Virgin Life - a day on Necker Island

Ғылым және технология

People often ask how I spend my time on Necker Island - here's a film that gives you a glimpse into a day on Necker. From playing tennis to working from home, seeing the lemurs to kitesurfing , join us for a taste of island life.
I've never had a desk in an office since I was a teenager. I prefer to work in a hammock, on a sofa or even in a bath. Now that's flexible working!
It's critical to get the balance between work and play right. Find time for yourself; work hard but also play hard. I think people work more effectively when they are given the freedom to make their own decisions -- that is definitely something we practice on Necker.
I've embraced the social media revolution, and do a lot of posting from Necker Island (including this video!) You can be instantly connected to fascinating people everywhere -- even if you're in a remote corner of the world.
From The Elders to The Carbon War Room, Virgin Galactic to The B Team, Necker is a great place to think and a great place to conceive ideas. Take a look at where we get our inspiration. Where do you find yours?
Are you passionate about our planet? What can we do to save it? virg.in/Uwv45

the person can't be completely free, it's an ilussion! He has a lot of obligations and responsibilties, that others can't imagine.... Being Richard Branson means imperial live for others, not everyone can afford this burden!

Really glad the B Team was setup, haven’t yet checked it out. One of my first inspirations I picked up from Richard on my first trip to his record shop in Birmingham. It was clear to me immediately that the energy coming from the really helpful staff, was down to how they were treated by their Employer. In my first Management Job I took this philosophy with me and turned a Business around, it has given me great pleasure to this day watching and hearing happy people at work, where it became fun, compared to when I first entered the business. The staff were arriving miserable and leaving in the same state, creating problems and low productivity due to low moral.

I dont kno if u will ever read this Sir Richard. But ur question is how do u keep work satifing. Well me personally I love seeing people having fun n being happy. I've had many different jobs in my time. MOST in the fast food or customer service part of employment. Sure it low pay n hard work but I loved it.. my mother owned her own Security Guard business at one time I helped her run it . It was fine. I enjoyed the interacting with guest n making sure they were happy n safe more than the office part.. I loved when I did front desk at hotels very much. Loved making sure when guest left they had a great experience and wanted to come back. At 44 i was a up coming manager at McDonald's n i loved my job. Always had a positive attitude n tried to make sure my customers were happy n that my teammates had good days as well. There was an accident at work one day n it went down hill from there. I was able to work for almost yr and half after the accident. I miss working so much I hope n pray that after all the work comp doctors and treatments I can return to work or mayb some kind of what use to b normal life for me. I love ur Island its beautiful. N love that u care for ur employees and that u do alot for them. Ur a good person .. Thank God for people like u..

What a great comment, as long as you really enjoy what you do to make your money. It really doesn't matter what field of work. As long as you stay true to yourself and you go home at the end of the day feeling like you made a difference to someone's life. I believe in three things, Work hard, stay humble and always treat people the way you would want to be treated. You will achieve your goals or your dreams. Have yourself a lovely day.

His beginnings were no more humble than "Prince" William. He started off with a HUGE vat fraud (250k in today's terms). Would have gone to jail but his rich family (including judges) got him off the hook. He also started off with a LOT of family money and introductions. He has a shady history ever since. And that's putting it extremely politely. Your ignorance of the real Branson is jawdropping.

As I work as a life coach and holistic therapist, there's always new things and insights to discover about humanity and the light in people's eyes when we find solutions for their issues together is the best gift of my work. But I also like to play a lot, spend time in nature and meditate, travel and meet extraordinary people and find solutions for world's issues, expand my perceived limits by doing things "out if the box". I happened to fly with Virgin America for the first time on my way from Port Land to San Francisco in 2016. It was the shortest trip compared with the other trips with other airlines on my vacation in the US. But I can say that Virgin America is the best airline there, in my personal experience. I also mentioned this the other day on my channel. I’d dreamt of flying with Virgin for a long time actually. Unfortunately, there’s no Virgin flight from Bangkok. Luckily, I eventually got the chance that time. Hopefully, you would consider opening a Virgin sky in Thailand one day, after Covid, of course.
