My husband and I love The Virgin for a staycation. It’s off strip but close enough and we always enjoy The Shag Room! Live entertainment, great drinks, and private seating. I don’t know about the main pool but the adult pool is big and offers cabanas. Another great thing about this property is the food! The restaurants are really good. Also, if you like funky, fun, accommodations you’ll love the rooms. This is where ppl that live in Vegas stay (off strip) and the vibe is chill.

Chris, Love this tight, condensed, and informative format. Loved visiting this hotel when it was the Hard Rock, didn't stay, but loved the eats and memorabilia. Don't know if I'll venture back now that it's the Virgin hotel, definitely won't stay, but so cool to see the new sights through your lens. Have a great one! vgv

I remember passing the hotel on the way back to the airport and was surprised at how out of the way it was. Feels like a weird choice for a brand that I feel tries to appeal to a younger crowd.

This came at the right time. Planning another Vegas trip and my agent mentioned this as an option. I told him Chris from YP said 2.5 Tophers. Get me a better room!

I just stayed there a few weeks ago. I'd give it a little more credit, but this review was spot on. I rented a car, so the free parking was awesome. You can drive to Planet Hollywood's lot and park there for cheap middle of strip; and if I recall I could park at the Venitian for free for the other end of the strip. Oh and so glad it had a Dunkin Donuts right downstairs instead of a lame Starbucks.

We walked thru the Virgin last Feb and really liked the changes they made to the casino, but we also felt like you, that it skewed towards a younger crowd. 20 years ago, we were also alot more amenable to staying off strip ( Orleans and Rio were favorites), but these days we just want to stay on the strip.

Great review and I agree. I stayed at Virgin in February, in the Canyon tower in a suite but it was clean at least. I wanted to like the place but the vibe is not quite right. What’s good is it is a Hilton property so you can take advantage if you are a Hilton rewards member. Its location is a challenge. Luckily I had my car to go to the strip. There is a great Mexican bar restaurant on site, and the Spa is awesome too. Not a bad property but does depend on what you are looking for in a Vegas hotel.

I’m really becoming a serious fan of your excellent hotel reviews. I specially appreciate your honest and insightful opinions and observations based on your firsthand experiences of these establishments. You hit the nail right on the head with respect to the Virgin Hotels’ cons, and I couldn’t agree more with your overall rating. In fact, the place feels like a quintessential Las Vegas vibe killer, and that lackluster casino reminded me of a burial ground for the last of the Mohicans!

I liked it better when it was the Hard Rock. I visited this place in January and like you I noticed it was super dead inside. With a newly rebranded resort one would think it would be at least somewhat busy with people who were curious but no go. Business had better pick up considerably soon or they’re going to go belly up.

Biggest downside is no sports book. That was the only thing that truly disappointed me. Also, pool is on the small side, but the adults only pool wasn't overly crowded. I stayed here a couple months ago. Used the pool (cabana), spa, casino, and about half a dozen of the restaurants. 10 out of 10, would stay again. Great experience. Underrated amenities are the shopping center across the street with a bunch of eateries, and a dispensery. Location isn't a big deal to me. There are hotels on the strip that are over a mile apart and you don't want to walk that either. NBD.

Great review. The hotel is average at best, but in a place surrounded with strong competition.

Another informative video, Chris. Thanks. I stayed at Virgin in January of this year but, fortunately, I booked my stay back in November before they started charging a resort fee so that fee was waived for me. So, my nightly rate ended up being just $114 which certainly wasn't a bad deal considering free parking an wi-fi were included. The Thai restaurant in the hotel was quite good, although the food was a little too salty. Guests would be wise to avoid the area across the street from the hotel by White Castle and 7-Eleven at night because it gets a little sketchy in that area after the sun goes down. But, since I prefer staying off the strip, this was perfect for me. Keep up the great work. Safe travels! (By the way, I have stayed in the recently renovated suites at Alexis Park across from Virgin, and they're quite nice for the price.)

Agree with a lot of your observations. Stayed there end of September 2022. Hotel was not that busy though they were hosting a corporate event. Biggest con you did not mention was its proximity to the airport. I experienced a tremendous amount of noise during the course of the day. You get a break starting at around 11 PM but around 4;30 AM the sound of flights taking off is horrific.

We stayed in 11130. Incredible stay. Sooo clean. Not sure why u had such issues with cleanliness. Defn didn’t have the same experience. My group rented 5 rooms. Different areas of the resort. All solid ….. I would highly recommend virgin. Glad I decided not to cancel after watching both ur videos.

It will be interesting to see how they do, especially given the off-strip location. It seems like these off-strip properties that try to be the hip, trendy place are unable to sustain it long-term - Rio, Palms, Hard Rock, etc. Most people want to hang out on the strip or fremont

It’s very relaxing, and that’s what we love about it. We’ve stayed 4 times since it opened.

Maybe because of the pandemic 😷, I was in Vegas during the pandemic. It was rough for the hotel industry.

Hard Rock was trashed at its end. Virgin Hotels had left a high expectation of being a boutique style hotel and turned out to be a terminal with guest rooms. That said opportunities to purchase a hotel/resort property do not come up often on or near the strip at a reasonable price so good on them for doing so. There is no excuse for a dirty, unmaintained property. That glass makes me wonder if the sheets were even changed out?

This is VERY different from its “previous life” as the “original” Hard Rock (as The Mirage will soon become the “new” Hard Rock)…The room decor seems nice and modern and very different from what was there (and it was very old and tired back when I stayed there in 2014)…sad to hear that it was disappointing

Good lord that place was empty. I was in Vegas for Thanksgiving at Vdara and Wynn, both were packed.

Why would anyone need a rechargeable remote control how much battery is that remote using

I have stayed at the HRH multiple times as I loved the vibe & decor, especially the pool area. From watching this video, it looks like Virgin did a poor job of keeping the hotel fun. I also think they have ruined the pool area.

I visited the VIrgin hotel and after I arrived they almost thought about changing the name. 🤣

Bruuuh A hotel with Dunkin gets a 6 stars from me 👌

I walked in and walked right out. There was nothing that made me want to stay there or gamble there.

I stayed in this hotel last month. It’s so noisy at the night time because too close to airport. Won’t stay there in the future.

Agree that 1 room could be an anomaly.. except they moved me from this room. To another room in another tower.. that was also dirty. But it was also a year ago.. so things could've certainly improved in the housekeeping department since then

Virgin Hotel Las Vegas: We will not charge a resort fee. Virgin Hotel Las Vegas a little later: We lied, we are going to charge one of the largest resort fees out there. Overall not impressed at all with this place so unless I got a fantastic price - - oh wait have to add the resort fee never mind I would not stay there.

The Virgin brand damaged itself irreparably during the pandemic with the way it treated customers. The name is tainted. Some of us will never use anything branded 'Virgin' again, it's become a byword for poor quality, value for money and service. It's not as good as it likes to think it is and I'd be surprised if this place lasted long.
