@@dontmindjustsubscribe4029 Unconjugated bilirubin is not water-soluble. It does not get filtered by the kidneys. Only conjugated bilirubin is filtered and excreted into the urine. This is why you don't see dark urine in unconjugated hyperbilirubinaemia such as haemolysis, Gilberts, Crigler-Najjar syndrome.

Does hbsag become negative from boarderline. My value was 1.82 then 1.33..then again raise to 1.58 and now 1.35 as per abbott elisa.

Hey just a question, you said that the dark urine is because of the unconjugated bilirubin being filtered in the kidneys however some sources like teachmephysiology state that UCB cannot be removed from the body as it is lipid soluble

My son age is 7 years and 8 months and his weight is 22 kgs which is less than a normal child. He has bad smell in his mouth and urine and he also complains for abdomen pain. Are these Jaundice or some other diseases symptoms. Please advise.
