Viral diseases - GCSE Biology (Revision for 2020)

**This video is for the topic of Infection and Response for GCSE Biology and Combined Science (9-1) - it is written for the AQA specification but overlaps with other exam boards.**
We’ll start with why viral diseases are difficult to treat by looking at what viruses do in the body.
Then we’ll cover the three viral diseases you need to know for GCSE Biology:
1 - Measles
2 - HIV
3 - Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV)
We’ll finish up with some quick questions to test you on what you’ve learnt - going through the answers together makes sure you can improve in no time!

    As viruses aren't technically alive, anti-viral drugs work to inhibit (stop) the virus from developing or reproducing.

    @@Lena-bq2ui we say this because they don't have the ability to reproduce on their own - they use the host cell to do this.
