Virago Cafe Racer Quick Run

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I take out my 1983 Yamaha Virago XV750 Cafe Racer Conversion out for a quick test ride. The bike is fun to ride and the sound of the vtwin engine is awesome, but it could use a fork update to help with braking and possibly handling. Luckily I was able to pick up an 2007 R6 front end which should replace the stock front end soon. We will see how it goes!

To be honest, the bike “handles” better with the factory forks.. I had mine dropped 2” through the triple tree and loved it. When I swapped over to a 2001 R1 fork set up I noticed the bike was harder to lean. The theory is the factory forks provide stability with their length, the newer sport bike fork swaps shorten the wheel base.

Thanks for the heads up! A little disappointing to hear but good to know! Still waiting on parts to do the conversion, but i was holding up the R6 forks next to my dropped stock forks and do see it will shorten the wheelbase even more than now. My complaints with the stock forks could be me not using clip ons for a while too. My stock forks are actually shot though. Fork oil is spraying out of the valve. Its a work in progress haha.

@@IsaacPel Stick with it! I wouldn't go back just based on the looks alone. (It's always a work in progress anyways)
