    @pelon072p No window module used on this one. There's actually a switch on the driver's door on the H2's that can roll the windows up and down. So via relays and resistors inline we were able to control the windows off the auxiliary outputs and just time it.

    The Idatalink piece is an interface module. It's necessary to remote start the vehicle. It makes the vehicle think the key is in the ignition disabling the factory immobilizer during the remote start sequence. It also allows your aftermarket security/ remote start system interface with the vehicle for locks, door status, tach etc. (Depending on application of course.)

    For the remote start and/or security part. I'd go on the Viper website to see what features you like. Then purchase the unit from where ever you want, install shop or online.

    Yes aftermarket security and/or remote starter systems are designed to work with most vehicles out there. You want to go to an experience install shop to get it installed, because it's the installer that makes everything work.

  • @AnthonyJ350
    @AnthonyJ35012 жыл бұрын

    @silverr616 Depends on the vehicle and necessary labour and parts to perform the job. I've had pricing range from $350 to $700 on average with the features we put in.

    Yes installing this into a Toyota Echo would be no problem. To do the window roll up and down you'll need the DEO 530T window module. Dos modules to do all 4 windows.

    But for the most part I give it a 4.5/5 I like starting it when it's hot outside have the ac going for a bit. I also crack my windows with the remote or roll them all the way down. I like the fact that you can also get temperature from the remote control as well. There's alot of functions that you have with this alarm. Keeps me calm knowing I get paged for any activities.

    @silverr616 What features are you getting at that price? I'm assuming the parking lights will flash, hood pin and all the doors will be monitored and possibly keyless. I'm not sure about American vehicles of that year but in Canada the truck would have a factory immobilizer so you'd need a bypass for that as well.

  • @AnthonyJ350

    All those are auxiliaries. Technically they can be hooked up to almost any function in the vehicle depending on what you ask the installer to hook up. Most people hook up trunk/ rear glass pop, window modules etc. But you could activate other features like lights, sun roof. There are a lot of possibilities.

  • @AnthonyJ350
    @AnthonyJ35012 жыл бұрын

    @ferney951 The difference in pricing is you're just paying for the product. You still have to pay for someone with the knowledge and experience to install and integrate it into the vehicle, unless you know how to do it yourself. For example. The Hummer in the video like many newer GM trucks, if you don't hook up a particular ignition wiring during the remote start sequence, you'll throw a check engine light and the transmission will start to function improperly.

  • @AnthonyJ350

    Thanks for the reply. I've never actually driven an automatic in my life however the ones I have been in have always warned the driver to press the brake pedal. So it is not a requirement to hold the brake pedal if the car will be stationary at ignition? I always thought it was a safety thing for automatics. That's another thing learned today. :)

  • @AnthonyJ350
    @AnthonyJ35012 жыл бұрын

    @silverr616 I wouldn't say they're over charging you by any means. I'm not sure why the Viper site quotes that price, probably just a guideline or is it also including their SMARTSTART at that $800 price point? The thing about Amazon is I don't know if they're going to give you any product support as far as warranties go.

    On my 2005 Silverado it controls the dome lights but I think I had to hook up parking lights. If you go to Idatalink's website and click vehicle application, it'll tell you what it controls.

  • @AnthonyJ350
    @AnthonyJ35012 жыл бұрын

    @AnthonyJ350 So the reason the price range I gave is so broad, is because it depends on the unit you buy (one way, two way, remote start, or a combo), additional parts (Smart Start module, window module, optional sensors like tilt or glass break etc) and the amount of labour to install it properly. Some of these installs we'll spend a solid 6-8 hours doing. Hope that clarifies things.

    hello, what would you recommend, 350 responder or 5901? all i need the alarm to do is alert me on the alarm remote if someone hit my car or is near it (without the car alarm going of, only the car remote). Is there any difference between 350 and 5901 beside the range and 5901 being a newer model?

  • @AnthonyJ350
    @AnthonyJ35012 жыл бұрын

    @silverr616 Ya that sounds like a very fair price, that's how much I would charge roughly for those features and that particular vehicle. Ya I'd just want all the doors, hood and rear tailgate to be "monitored" by the security system. I'd also ask if they solder and tape all of their connections and ask what kind of warranty they offer on their workmanship. If it's a good shop it should be lifetime. Remotes will only have a 1 year warranty.

    Where in Canada are you ? I bought the Viper 5704 and idatalink. I got a couple of questions. It appears that I have almost everything hooked up right, when the key is in the on position the control center antenna lights up and stays solid. No matter what configuration I try I can't seem to get it to start the programming mode. Also the when I hold down the arm button on the siren chirps but the doors do not unlock. When I try and disarm no chirp and no action from the locks.

    Pressing the brake is only necessary to take the vehicle out of park typically. It's not necessary to actually turn the vehicle on. On a manual transmission how ever the clutch being depressed has to be mimicked in order to start the vehicle. Never let anyone just bypass the clutch. The signal should be replicated only during remote start and resume regular safety operation when starting the vehicle with the key.

They also have the Viper 5704 which is just as good and only costs $199.98 on Amazon as opposed to the Viper website price of $599. Also, take into consideration that you may need a Bypass that can be around $200 for a good one and someone to install it that may be around $300. Hope this helped.

    Your local install car audio shop can help you with that.
