brings back childhood memories of coming home from school, turning on my PS2 with Gran Turismo 3 and racing the #92 Team Oreca Viper GTS-R around Midfield Raceway, beating the Toyota GT-ONE and Mazda 787B by a hair, it was intense!

It was either #91 or #51 depending on which localization of the game you were playing, but I think the #92 with the white mirrors and windshield strip looked better irl and it would be nice to have an accurate portrayal of that particular car in a game.

It's good to see this great piece of motorsport history is still active on the racetrack :)

My favorite generation of my favorite car. Legendary on the track

In 2000 for Endurance races from 12h to 24h Oreca used the Tremec H pattern gearbox. But for ALMS races they were using mostly Ricardo sequential ones. C27 being still to 100% original unrestored condition it still has the H-Pattern one. Gear change is very long.

Love these vipers. Love that older model viper at 2:10.

Omfg, that is music to my ears. Just seeing this beast go around people like it's searching for that overrated corvette, and smashing those big bends like it's ice cream on a hot sunday, really makes me excited! 😌😌

In addition your Thumbnail image is from my car C23 at a Revival race in 2007.

I was reading through the comments and saw where you said the car has slightly over 700hp. Are you running the same size air restrictors as the car had in 2000? How much does the car weigh minus driver and fuel?

Has the 2000 model already a sequential gearbox or is it still the H-pattern? I always wanted to know that. It so cool that this car is still running. :)

to the 8 year old comment - All vipers have a standard H pattern, but I'm sure some of the race vipers use sequential. Some modified vipers get sequential or automatic shifters.

Track version there actually was called the competition coupe.... they all were coupes but that absolutely is another Viper on course Two Gen 2 Vipers and one Gen 4
