Vipassana Meditation Guided 45 Minute Sit

A simple and effective guided Vipassana (insight) meditation designed predominantly for beginners with plenty of guidance. Starts with Anapana (breath awareness) to establish awareness, followed by a guided part-by-part body scan focussing on the changing nature of the physical sensations within the body.
Practice everyday, preferably once in the morning and once in the evening, to experience observable and lasting changes in your life. Enjoy!
If you'd like to give your practice a boost, and find some real and lasting peace and harmony, you can find a lot more information at Can You Zen: canyouzen.com
Note: Screen is mostly blacked out during meditation to save power or battery on your device.

    I was able to move my attention around the body relatively quickly in todays session. It felt like i was obsessed with finding sensation rather than just observing it, had a lighter experience today. Maybe the obsessive thinking joined in with meditation as well haha. I dont know if this is much of an insight. Thank you

  • @canyouzen

    @canyouzen

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are aware of this now!...so definitely a little bit of an insight. This is actually a very very common obstacle for Vipassana meditators...this urge to 'feel' or 'find' sensation rather than observe things as they are. It can take a long time to unwind this habit of trying to 'achieve'. You are aware of it now, so keep practicing doing this and you'll surely make progress 🙂 keep going!

    Hi Manju - grief is a very strong emotion and so is this fear. It can always be supported through strong social connections to family, friends and community, on top of your meditation. This is a natural part of life, even your children will learn and they will be ok, especially if you taught them well. Keep practicing in this way in this area you feel. It will take time and patience. Take care 🙏🏼

    Your welcome! Glad it's helpful. Stay with it for a minute or so and investigate - what size is it? Shape? Does it change? Is there another sensation 'beyond' what you consider pain? Then just let go and move on. When you get back to it, try again, maybe it will be different. Hope this helps!

  • @canyouzen

    Hi Rohan, we can begin again in every moment 🙂 if you have gross and blind spots, stick to part by part. If you have similar sensations in both arms (or legs) you can scan both at the same time. If they are very different, or if, for example, you can feel sensations in your left arm but not your right, go through them separately. Hope this helps.

    Hi Ujjal, thanks for checking up! Everything is fine, I’m just in a different phase at the moment, with some competing priorities. Hopefully I can get back to it real soon, stayed tuned 🙂🙏🏼

    How long should I meditate daily? Can I meditate for 5 hours daily if I can? I want to be free from my depression

    It totally depends on how much time you can give, but generally the more the better! When it comes to depression, to improve results and monitor yourself during meditation, I would also recommend talking to a therapist, practicing physical exercise and having a strong friendship circle/community connection. It all takes time, but if you are gentle and kind to yourself, you will make progress 🙏

    Hi, this is great to hear, try not to worry about it too much, and practice some Anapana for a while, paying attention to your breath. If you absolutely cannot sit still, go for a mindful walk while paying attention to your breath and sensations, then try to sit again. Hope this helps!
