Violin by Johann Georg Schoenfelder, 1795
Typical of J.G. Schoenfelder's instruments, this violin has a clean, fresh, and smooth tone that is reinforced with power and resonance. It showcases further classic Schoenfelder characteristics, including a one-piece spruce top, a maple back with fine grain, delicate purfling close to the edge, and a dainty and elegant scroll. Truly one of the more masterful examples of early Markneukirchen violin making, this lovely instrument has been recently restored and is ready to play the most challenging musical repertoire.
