Absolutely LOVE the Tom of Finland tattoo! As a Finnish person I am oh so very proud of the fact that we have a famous gay-culture icon who is known all around the world and who has had an impact on so many of us in the lgbt-community. I'm so happy and glad to see that his legacy is being kept alive, as it should be. Btw have you seen the recently made movie that tells the story of Touko a.k.a Tom? If you haven't, I strongly recommend it!

it is from a comic. The artist is Touku Laaksonen - outside of our country also known as Tom of Finland. Recently a film about him came out which depicts his story as a gay artist shortly after WW2.

Violet is the only reason I even started caring about fashion and the history of fashion. She's really taught me so much about the whole industry! Literally didn't even know what the Met Gala was until this last year bc she attended and also bc Lady Gagas epic entrance was just everywhere, you couldn't avoid it! I love Violets sense of style and I've always loved the psychobilly, rockabilly & punk culture which goes hand n hand with vintage and old 50s style! I loved hearing about the symbolism behind your tattoos! I have a cicada tattoo as well, and the reason why I chose mine is because of the legend of the cicada, which is found in different cultures around the world. Basically, there are two insects, Ant and Cicada. Ant spends all of its time gathering food while Cicada spends all day living a languid life of singing and relaxing. When winter comes around, Ant has plenty to eat while Cicada starves. The moral of the story is to not waste time on luxuries, but what I got from the story is to live life to the fullest - I mean, who wants to spend the majority of their life toiling away? Cicada is definitely the way to go.
