But the whole time her mother was egging her on, and after Violet became a blueberry she didn't seem to care about Violet, she was more concerned about her competing. Richeetah Yeah, after the movie I think all the kids parents would have sued him. In the original I don't think they could do anything, because they signed that contract. That didn't happen here.. If I was Miss Beauregarde, and my daughter became a blueberry I'd be suing, suing all day long. But if she was a blueberry (or if she exploded) I don't know how she'd sue.

Violet and her mum are so freakishly competitive, they want to win at all costs. How funny an exchange would this be: Willy Wonka: Roll her to the juicing room. Mrs. Beuragaurd: Okay, but after my daughter gets juiced we still win your factory right? Willy Wonka: Of course not. Your daughter was eliminated. She loses. You don't win. That's true, one thing great about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was how symbolic it was, both films and book, it demonstrates various issues that kids develop and how if their parents don't do something about it, then their kid will end up in a bad place. Kind of makes you wonder what this meant for Henry Salt though, I mean no other parent shared a punishment with their kid, so why was it just him?

The Oompa-Loompas cannot say what they think of Mrs. Beauregard, because there are children present. Oh, and it seems that in abridging the song from the book, they cut out the transition to the sad tale of Miss Bigelow, the compulsive chewer alluded to in the song.

This Song Along with the other three songs from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are complete masterpieces! Danny Elfman should have gotten an award for making such an awesome soundtrack.

I always like seeing their faces when the kids are getting their just desserts. Their expressions (especially during this scene and Veruca's) are really believable.

I love Missi Pyle. She completely steals the scene with her angry looks alone.

Willy Wonka was able to create a chewable poison that changed your genetic and physical composition to match that of a blueberry. Her insides swelled so big that her spine probably got stretched as well, which would have ruptured her intestines or stabbed her lungs. Do you realize that she technically turned into a giant blueberry and Wonka couldn't find a way to reverse it? She should be dead, if not from shock then from having all of her organs morph into massive seeds. I know it's fake, but to actually think about it, none of those kids should've survived and this movie is dark AF.

I think Violet and Mike are the two that ended up with the worse punishments compared to Veruca and Augustus. When you look at Violet she turns out in the end blue and flexible, Mike is stretched tall and thin, while Veruca just needs a bath to be normal same with Augustus heck he probably lick himself clean since he loves chocolate so much and ends up coming out covered in it. I think the songs for Violet and Veruca are my favorite in the end though and also in the end they all got what they deserve but it doesn't seem to bother them much except maybe Veruca a little.

This version of Violet's blueberry inflation looks a whole lot better than the 1971 version. Still, to some degree, the scene could've done better if the inflation would've stopped after expanding her as wide as she was tall. I honestly think that if Violet Beareguarde was more of a model it would have enhanced the demise a little better. Her mother would be mortified and Violet would be in shock over what's happening to her ideal body weight, more so after she'd get juiced. Imagine carrying around extra weight in juice, rather than excess fat.

I just got back after rewatching this movie, and I realized how underrated this movie's soundtrack is. I think this one's one of my personal favorites.

I love how all the songs fit each person perfectly (personality wise as well as situtation and etc.)

no. they were “friends” until violet’s mom said “my daughter is gonna be the first girl in the world to have a chewing gum meal” that made veruca mad and jealous but then was happy that it went bad for violet.

without a doubt the best movie to share with the family in christmas

when it comes to the chocolate factory movies my fav scenes are the parts when each kid ends up doing something bad and the oompa loompas sing. the way wonka acts and the others freak out is so funny

I feel like even the parts of the song where their dancing is slightly different just makes the film feel even more real and have an even greater feel to it

Does anyone else think that Violet's, ahem, near demise, was the scariest of all the kids? Mike seemed OK with having shrunk, while Veruca wouldn't suffer any lasting damage and while Augustus was made thin, but Violet was blue for the rest of her life. It's not really the lasting damage though...I think that it's the most fantastical demise, and scares me more because of that. The other kids have things happen that seem more...real, but turning into a blueberry from a stick of gum...scary.

Violet's demise now reminds me of that Blorb illness from Mario and Luigi: Bowser's inside story; of how the Mushroom people turned into fat and plump people only they're not blue. Same goes with Luigi turning fat too from the same game to fight off enemies.

vampire523ful Except she doesn't die in this film. So, I'm pretty sure "demise" isn't the right word. Maybe... endgame. That works. And I've never played Bowser's Inside story. Maybe I should check it out.

My fave part in this scene is when wonka creeps up behind violet's mothers

Deep Roy as the Oompa Lumpas is what really made this film pretty awesome for me. He seems like a good sport.

This has gotta be one of the more memorable ones for me

I just love the use of the wah wah pedal in this song...that wah is kickass!!

I honestly like this version better than the original. You can hate me if you want but I'm just saying, the original Oompa Loompas scare the heck out of me

On 0:00 Veruca wants Violet to suffer as a blueberry.. That's like a betrayal as a friend... She doesn't feel bad at all... I hate Veruca's character. That's why She got suffered when the squirrels attack her... But she is really pretty in real life and love her acting... Thx for Veruca's character.. I'll check her actor later...

When Wonka was talking about the hair taffy, Violet looked over at Veruca implying she thought it would be funny if Veruca grew a beard and basically turned ugly. So that's why I think Veruca made the face she did when Violet began swelling.

Ironically how she is the worst character and she had a stupid punishment. she fell down a slide hole (pause) which I'm sure was fun and got covered in garbage and sut

It might just be cause of the effects, but I like this violet's expansion a little better than the original one. This one at least has the round shape of a blueberry.
