Violent Femmes - Blister In The Sun (Lyric Video)

Музыка

Taken from the self-titled debut album, Violent Femmes.
As Violent Femmes celebrate their 40th year together, Craft Recordings is pleased to honor the band’s enduring catalog of cult classics with the digital and long out-of-print vinyl reissue of Add It Up (1981-1993). Available to order here: found.ee/vf-additup
The 23-track compilation features Violent Femmes biggest hits, including “Blister in the Sun,” “American Music,” and “Gone Daddy Gone,” plus live recordings of favorites like “Add It Up,” and “Kiss Off,” alongside a trove of demos, B-sides, interstitial voice recordings, and rarities. 1983. That was a long time ago. Such a long time ago. Third grade, for me. But these cats aren't as older than me than they used to be. By 1987, I was into them. I found out about The Fall in 1989. I always felt like I was an outlier, I didn't have good taste. Boy was I wrong. The Cure, Depeschkljljas Mode, Nitzer Ebb, all these are good, but the first was the best, and the most: you take one, one, one for your family....

I came straight from the southside of Chicago to the western suburbs when one of my college buddies introduced me to this song. I had never heard anything so weird in my life! Lol I had growing up on R&B music and jazz, so this was quite the stretch. But here I am 30+ years later singing every word and remembering my friend Fred. Rest in peace buddy, we will see each other again soon!

Bro no way I just stumbled upon this, I've been trying to figure out what it was for about a year after hearing it in a restaurant and realizing I heard it a lot on the radio when I was little. All I could remember was the acoustic intro.

This song has a special memory for me My grandpa's house was going to be torn down. So me and my friend had a picnic across the street and watched the house get torn down. This was playing while it was happening. Great day 🤍

Just woke up from yet another weird dream. My dead uncle had bequeathed me a diamond he'd been carrying in one of his teeth. Someone had dropped by to give it to me. Right before I took hold of the treasure I cranked this song. Then I woke up. Makes perfect sense
