Violence breaks out on motorway before French Cup final
Emmanuel Macron condemned the violence that broke out on a motorway between football fans on their way to the French Cup final that left 30 people injured and a supporters’ bus burnt out.
The clashes broke out at a toll gate between fans of Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on their way to Saturday evening’s match in the northern city of Lille, which Mr Macron said he would be attending.
The violence struck 60 kilometres (40 miles) from Lille, where the final was being played because Paris’s Stade de France is being readied for this summer’s Olympics.

Some of the most serious incidents involving hooligans have occurred in England (or have involved British fans in foreign countries). Violent incidents between fans are frequent in parts of Latin America, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Poland, the Netherlands...

There's actually a political context here apparently: These PSG fans are more multicultural and multi-ethnic, whereas the "Bad Gones" from Lyon are more far-right. Historically and sports-wise, there is very little rivalry between Paris and Lyon; it's more Paris vs Marseille and Lyon vs Saint Etienne.
People going on like this doesnt happen in their own country....british football hooligans are the worst in the world.

Well, they don't (can't) do it at home anymore. But they sure like to act like pigs when they travel for a WC or Euro. Strangely enough, it's NEVER their fault! British fans are the kings of provocation, and sometimes it backfires against them.
