Violence against women is a ‘stain on our nation’: Anthony Albanese
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says violence against women is a “national crisis”.
On average, a woman is murdered in Australia every four days by someone they know, an intimate partner or a former partner.
“It’s a scourge and it’s a stain on our nation and we need to do better,” Mr Albanese said during Question Time.
“This is about more than just government action, this is about our whole society and how it functions and about respect for women.
“We can change it and we must change it.”
