Yes, to me the low light night mode is very important. Worth the upgrades

To me it seems like the text readability of the front camera on the A129 while there is motion is VASTLY superior to the A229, which is what I'd think is most important since you want to get the license plates, yeah? A good example of this is 10:36 (A129) vs 11:16 (A229). Also I feel like in those two examples the audio quality of the older A129 is much better as well.

I totally understand, that could be the youtube video processing codecs or smudge or blurry windshield glass. Or could be fixed with a newer firmware which adjust the camera shutter angle in the software. But if you freeze the frame at 3:33, you will see the A229 is sharper and has wider Dynamic range.

4k60 an option?

Great video but I find the music a little distracting while trying to closely watch the video to compare.

Maybe this is a dumb question, does it record forward and reverse at the same time or do you pick one or the other?

Good Question. Yes, it is recorded at the same time with two different files. Front & Rear. But, if purchase the 3 channel setup it will also record another file for the 3rd camera.
