Whitney, I think you are amazing. You taught me how to make my first tote bag. It is so easy to follow you on tutorials. So thank you from a beginner sewer.

Best video for making these I have found. Love the self binding and agree that 1” is a must. Just made 3 and love them. Oh no fusible fleece on hand so I used remnant flannel and it worked great.

Love this version. It saves fabric because there is no need to cut binding. I use small pieces of 1/4 inch double stick tape to secure the vinyl and keep it from slipping.

Thank you for sharing your mitered corner mistakes. We need to see the large and small roadblocks we may come across. This is an awesome project bag 👍

I love love love this idea with the binding. I think everyone has problems with the plastic. if you have some tissue paper handy you can cut it into strips and put it on top while sewing your edges and it helps to keep it in line. love your tutorials!

Yes, I am so happy to find this binding method, also the bag is great! I am now back into cross stitch due to your inspiration and would love to have a smaller project bag to carry along. I made seasonal face masks with two different fabrics using that miter corner and edging. I love this see-through bag, might try it!

Went to your site to download the PDF, but at check out it would not allow instant download. It showed it as processing. Took several hours before I could view it.

Directions were concise and easy to follow. However, Etsy site wanted too much info for a free download which I felt uneasy sharing.

Thanks for this. I love your simple explanations. I was doing really well until it came to the mitred corners, I think I made my borders too slim so it was too fiddly. Do you also have any other way of doing self binding mitred corners? (eg. for quilts). Many thanks.

What gauge vinyl did you end up using just a thicker gauge?

Nope, I made 50+ bears in a year and got tired of it so I stopped making custom bears.

A credit card number is not required. That box is only there because I used to sell my patterns and the website is still set up as if it is a shop.

A credit card number isn't needed. The patterns used to be for sale on my website so they are set up through a shop plug-in, but you can check out without adding any card info now that they are free.
