    I purchased the liner from Doheny's Pool Supplies. I bought a closeout pattern so it was discounted down to about $900. I always assumed closeout patterns would be ugly but thats not the case (as you can see in the video). When you contact them they will give you a form to fill-out with the pool dimensions. Just take very good measurements and you should have no problems. Enjoy!

    Current pool had them. Along with tears and holes. When I tore out the old liner a lot of the sand had caved in. It’s pretty simple to fix, it’s getting to it and putting in a new liner that sucks. Just get it nice and wet so it’s almost like cement and use a trowel to flatten out

  • @TechStuff1

    @TechStuff1

    7 жыл бұрын

    +soundiscomforting This is definitely cheaper than tiling a pool, but I wouldn't have been able to simply switch from vinyl to tile. You have to stick with the pool that you have since the concrete, tile, vinyl, and fiberglass are all constructed differently. Typical vinyl liners last about 10-15 years, and the one I removed was 10 years old with a very slow leak.

  • @kckeithc

    @kckeithc

    5 жыл бұрын

    Dwayne Walker just set it in the shallow end, they're usually marked deep and shallow also on the back of the liner, the break points are marked with arrows or a BP. Lock the break points (where shallow transitions to deep) in 1st, then work in all of the shallow in starting with the corners. Next, lock in the center of the deep end (also usually marked), then work the rest of the liner in. If you get the corners, you can work whatever slack you have in without much of a problem.

    My pool was 20x40 and 8 ft deep. I think I calculated 25,000 gallons?? They were going to charge me 300$ per truckload of water. I calculated 7 truckloads. I think it was 3000 gallons per truckload. I could supplement a few thousand gallons from my well. I'm on well water. The problem with a well is you can burn out a pump and that costs 2000$. How do I know this? Because my renters burned out the pump filling the pool in the spring when I was out of town. The level had dropped a foot over the winter because of various leaks. Now when the winter is over I don't need to add a drop. My level is high enough to allow me to vacuum to waste. So the temporary pools saved me some money on storage. I also am on a septic system so the water would have gone over the hill. I highly recommend the above ground pool as a temporary reservoir if you have well water. I set it up myself in a few hours. You need a level space about 40 feet square.

    My pool bottom is vermiculite. It is porous. If the pool gets a leak in the vinyl the water needs someplace to go. So no cement. It feels like cement once the pool is full. .

  • @kckeithc

    @kckeithc

    5 жыл бұрын

    lcagee the vermiculite bottoms have cement mixed in also, thats what makes them firm and the vermiculite makes them porous. It's also in case you get ground water, the weight of the water in the pool can push the water through the vermiculite/cement bottom without floating your liner.

    Just two comments: If you used at least 2 vacs, the liner would have pulled tighter to the walls and you would have been able to get rid of those wrinkles totally. Filling the pool with the garden hose that way will drastically shorten the life of the liner. The sun's rays breaks down the polymer in the vinyl and the liner will last about 10 to 12 years if you are lucky. Trucking in the water and filling the pool quickly, will add about 4 to 6 years more to the life of the liner. Just saying.

  • @SteveNunz

    @SteveNunz

    6 жыл бұрын

    Rick Tanguay completely false. I am a swimming pool installer. Makes zero difference if filling from hose or from a truck. Only time a truck is absolutely necessary is with a ground water issue. 16x32 Should take 2 days to fill with hose. Fit of the liner can reduce years off liners but not the rate they are filled.
