Interesting one, used to see this at my local shop but haven't recently. Not many records like this in the Archives.

Nice to see you taking seriously this serie Chris. Some of those samples sounded really soothing playing by him, I need to explore more his music. Thanks for showing.

That was really interesting. I really liked the second album, particularly the part that was playing at the end of the video. It's interesting that ECM changed his name back to Tibbetts. Thanks for this introduction to his music!

Hey Chris, It's good to catch up with you on this. Am a longtime fan of Steve, though admittedly haven't listened to him recently. I really like these first two as well, and I think this is my first time seeing the original cover of 'YR'. I must revisit him now. Thanks for sharing these. -Carm

Chris, I really enjoyed this installment. I've known about the music of Steve Tibbetts since the early 1980's , but I only heard bits and pieces throughout the years. I'd usually buy anything on the ECM label, and I saw his records in shops but never pulled the trigger. The snippets all sounded nice, the spirit of Manuel Gottsching's later period work seems to be detected in Tibbett's sound palette and DIY approach. I have a promo cd of Steve Tibbetts album with Knut Hamre, titled ''A'', on Hannibal from 1999, I got it for free from a record store owner. It's a nice listen, I gotta try and find it!

Hi Chris, hadn’t heard of Steve Tibbets before, but just had a good listen on KZread. Really cool guitar sound. That’s a fine collection of his albums that you have. Going to have a dig into your other acid archives. Liked & subbed. Cheers pal, Jack

Thanks Shawn. I was thinking of bending the rules a bit, and now that I know that you are watching I might go ahead an feature a seven inch single that is only peripherally mentioned in the book.

Been awhile since i heard these..love of them of course. Only missing big map ideas from him as far as vinyl goes. If you dig these tibbetts lp's you would love the wise/magraw lp he produced another lovely tabla/ guitar lp.

Brian, I only have a PDF of it, but a physical copy would be very nice. If you had a copy you might discover something to make a video about.

I have both Frammis albums and several ECM records as well. I generally like what he does but he's not in heavy rotation. Been a few years since I've listened to any of them.

It seems like you could have been making several of these videos for us. That hype sticker on the ECM reissue of Yr over promises a little with "a guitar freak's dream", it is good though. Thanks, Chris

Dig the guitar and tabla parts. Not as big on the others. I need to check out his work with Drolma for sure.

Dave, Choying Drolma is a Buddhist nun, adding vocals. Gives it a different fells form the first two LPs, which were instrumental. Thanks, Chris
