+Jayne Starr My sister and I went to Disneyland and did 1950s inspired looks and an older gentleman told us we looked like the girls he use to date back in the 50s. That comment made my whole day :)

It is so adorable
What I like the most is that this tutorial is that it is almost real-time, no cuts. Once I get the hang of it, the brush out shouldn’t last more than 10 minutes or so. Worth it!!
When I look at Gil Elvgren Pinup paintings, sometimes my heart flutters at the sheer beauty of them. My heart fluttered as you put on your hat, turned sweetly and smiled. It was a moment of perfection!

Thank you! You're so sweet! :)
This is one of the best proper vintage hair tutorials I've found! I'm glad you show through pin curls to the end. And it doesn't hurt that you are absolutely beautiful. You have the perfect look for that time period.
I’ve literally watched this video throughout the years since it’s been posted. I’m always going back to it 😩🙏
just exquisite and yes a little bit Gene Tierney . New fan of your channel.
Finally! Someone who does this hairstyle cotrect! Mainly the bangs
So cute!
I have very straight hair as well. Setting lotion definitely helps maintain the curls throughout the day. For the best results, it's best to set your hair after you wash it. While it's still damp, spray the setting lotion like you would if your hair was dry. As always, make sure your hair dries completely. Lengh is also a factor. If you have longer hair, I would recommend making smaller pin curls.
Can you do a tutorial on how you do your makeup? Because its gorgeous! You're gorgeous! And I love your hair! You're just so fabulous and classy :)

My grandmother grew up in the 40s and did her pin curls like this. Gorgeous!
You look stunning with that. You should seriously go out in public like this.
Thank you. Okay, now I can go kick ass everyday looking like Peggy Carter.
I followed your tutorial Friday night for an event Saturday and it came out wonderfully! Your instructions were perfect. My hair even lasted through the rest of the weekend and I'm sad to wash it out :) Excellent tutorial!
whole look is eccelent . Love those bell sleeves as well
i stand by the fact that most people look positively gorgeous with this style and between your makeup and the curls, you are looking fantastic, doll! thanks for making this. I've been wondering about this for ages. that must have been rough to sleep on though.
Bellissimo colore di capelli.....straordinario....complimenti!!!💟

That's wonderful! I'm so glad it was helpful!!! Thank you so much for watching! :)
I have very curly hair that is also heavily layered so as I am attempting this I am thinking " Jesus take the wheel" as my frizz has already taken over not even 3 minutes after getting all the curls in.
It's almost like u stepped out of a time capsule. :D your amazing
Thank you so very much! Many women actually had their hair in layers to create the waterfall look. One good example is Rita Hayworth's hair. So pin curl your hair according to your layers. Use the same amount of hair that I used in this tutorial.
So pretty! You look like you're getting ready to make a movie for MGM! :)
Mariana, I agree this is one of the best vintage tutorials I've seen! I was wondering though.. have you ever considered makiing a vintage makeup tutorial? I couldn't help but notice that you have a very nice wing tip eye liner technique. That is something I haven't been able to master yet. Maybe you could consider walking us though how you do your makeup as well. It goes nicely with a 40's hair style. Thanks and keep the video's coming!
Simply stunning! Your tutorials are the only flawless ones I can find on youtube..You are the vintage queen in my eyes! Thank You,darling!
It took me several tries before I become comfortable with the technique. I have been doing it for years now and it's my preferred technique. I would start out my setting larger size pin curls, especially since you have thick hair. I'm sure it'll turn out just lovely! Keep practicing and you'll soon become pro! :)
Just when I think she has it perfectly coiffed she goes in with the brush again. In the end it still came out nicely.
You look so cute with the hat on and you do remind me of the 40s.
That look is stunning on you!
I was looking for Peggy Carter look and when I saw mini pic of your video I thought you look amazing! I hope you will do Peggy Carter look, hair and makeup it will be very useful and I know you will look stunning. You really have beuty for those quite ald vintage traditional looks. Greetings! Wish you all the best! :DD
Looking gorgeous, darling!

Beautiful, and I love the makeup too!
You are gorgeous!!! Your makeup is flawless and your hair is just fantastic!
So pretty. Great refresher! Thank you. Was doing 50's pin up for years then a brief dull stop at current modern styles, yawn. :) I will try 1940's now as my hair is long now. Love it. I too love Gene and Rita, though Marilyn was my first beauty icon I emulated since age 14, but now Veronica Lake is more my style. Thanks again beauty.
This is such a lovely and delicate hairstyle!
wonderfulllll!!!

She's so classy that I want to prevent myself from cursing to not feel dirty.

Very nice hairstyle, and very beautiful ladie:)
AMAZING WORK!!
Stunning and I love the hat :D
Tried it, loved it. Don’t have same products here and hair was a bit longer than hers, but after brushing though pinned the end curl under at my neck’s base to make my hair shoulder length(had so many Bobbi pins after step1) went to Halloween party & it stayed fabulous all night :) still is! Shall 100% do often (but quicker now)
beautiful!
ME ENCANTO AMIGA GRACIAS POR EL TUTORIAL,,,,,,,,ME FASCINO
this is so thorough! honestly I've been trying pin curls for a couple of months now and they are just so finicky my hair always ends in a mess one way or another, so all these tips have been amazing! thank u!

Wow I bet your great grandmothers from both sides were just as beautiful as you during those days. Side note: I use to color Rita Hayworths daughter's hair. Her name is Yasmine.
Am doing this look. Thank you and your beautiful. Im in my late 50s and a redhead. I think i could pull it off. Lol.
This is beautiful!
wait what? she took out the curls, ran her fingers through her hair, brushed it a little, and it was perfect? must be magic...
i love your hair colour!!! it's perfect. i bleached mine and i don't want to anymore, as i'm naturally dark brown i think a lighter colour similar to yours would suit me and give more definition to my curls! :) thanks for the video
