Whats amazing is the fact that if we didn't have these amazing toys and experiences to spark our imagination, none of what we enjoy today would be possible.

It was a good time. I was 10 in 1970. It was an interesting time all around; a mod, creative, and social awareness renaissance was happening. Norman Lear was about to hit the airwaves with ground breaking shows and we would have a time like none other again. The movies being made and the TV shows being broadcast in that timeline would never be made today or not again in my lifetime. I am glad I was here, young enough to grow up in it and old enough to appreciate entering into this time period from the 1960s and witnessing the huge changes. Life Magazine was major reading material. I got to have a G.I. Joe, Legos, and Hot Wheels when they were new while not being too old for them. I still have my Legos and have an anniversary reproduction one of the original four "Joes." I wish I still had my View-Master.

This was great but I wish you would have gone a little slower so we could really check them out. I recall most of those toys. Awesome to be able to reflect on those innocent, fun toys and games! Thanks!

Wow...fantastic flashbacks for me. It would be great to see the same toys, in a much longer video with some backstory narrative added.

My era of toy enjoyment was 62-69. My favorites were the Mattel Varoooom, Mattel Vacuform, Ideal Super City, Jimmy Jet, Cox .049 Plane Trainer, Super Ball, Slinky and Silly Putty.

After reviewing this video a few times I realize we had aboslutely no reason to be bored. Fun was thrown at us from every direction. A time period never to be duplicated again. And If todays kids had just a glimpse of what it was like to be us, they'd feel cheated.

I had a few of these in my time. It is sad that after 50yrs. there is no trace of anything left. Every Christmas as a child our living room was jammed with toys. All are gone. Consider all the people in the country that lost all that they had also, makes me wonder why did we get all these toys in the first place? That is an enormous amount of trash. And also the amount of money our parents put out over the years. Many parents back then struggled with money. They still somehow had our living rooms full of toys each Christmas. Got to give it to them for trying their best. The memories of Christmas as a youth are priceless. Hope you all have great memories of your past.

It makes you wonder why you got all those toys in the first place. Look at your comment Bob. You answered your own question. "The memories of Christmas as a youth are priceless." As a parent, there's nothing I wouldn't do to make sure my child's Christmas, and childhood memories, are priceless. It isn't trash, my friend.

Venom 101002, My stuff is all gone. Toys all fall apart eventually then are thrown out. Yes I agree with you. The toys you give your kids on Christmas are priceless. Although your children may not realize this until later in life. Kids today (not all), wear out toys into the ground. I sadly had toys that wore out then lost them. Still I am happy I had the chance to have used them. Now 55, there is nothing left of what I've had. One note though. I as many had a baby blanket. Even after 55 yrs. I still have it in tact. The shiny boarder it had is gone, but the rest exists. Funny how after all these years one of the first things I got as a child still exists. At least I have something of my past.

Hey good memory lane trip. I'm 56 years old and my sister and I took care of our toys so well and saved most of them that 5 years ago she got into contact with a collector and he payed us 700 dollars for everything we had and even payed the shipping. He was really excited that we had a dark shadows game and still had the plastic fangs that went with them.

Someone stole my guns 10 years ago. Two rifles, SKS and Mak90, and a Tokarov pistol. And a ton of ammo, ham cans of Chi-com 7.62x39. Haven't missed having them yet. All I have now is a H&R .410 that I got for Christmas when I was 13yo. Dunno why they didn't steal that, too.

It wasn't mentioned, but there was a time I wanted that Combat! package one toy store had,it came with a rifle, helmet, some ammo,a canteen and belt, it was around $4.00 so I couldn't afford it then. TV then in the 1960s wouldn't show girls with pistols and rifles; yes, I'm a girl and at least I had a gun belt and holsters for my two cap pistols, 50 years ago I have no idea what became of them. Yes, still have Johnny West, Jane and Josie West, and Thunderbolt and Thundercolt today...

Christmas time was sad for us in the 50's and 60's. Mother couldn't afford to give us toys. Some years our church would donate a few toys for us children. Nowadays children have it made, and they only play with their expensive toys a few times then it all goes to thrift stores or to the trash.
