Well done. Many people in metropolitan areas would not realise the levels of skills a modern farmer need to master if he, or she is going to have any chance of being successful at farming, and off-cause, there are also the vaguaries of the weather to contend with, plus the issue of fluctuating prices for produce, and dealing with potential pests and diseases of plants and livestock, and at times bothersome bureaucracies to deal with as well.! Good thing there still are skillful hardworking farmers to supply most of our daily food requirements.!

Good little job done dan, didn’t take too long & has prevented a potentially much bigger job or breakdown! Just looking straight at the dynamo bracket there on the first camera angle and just wondering how it’s held on as the two bolts that screw into the timing cover look to be missing ?
@CowfarmerDan

Yes, it's not the original engine and has a bodged bracket as the holes in the timing cover are stripped.

Very enjoyable video, you cant beat a pair of Stilsons wedged against a lower link arm. Be careful with comments about 60 yr old nuts, some of us are sensitive !! A well place right boot always aids hitching on an implement. looking forward to the drilling video.

Great video Dan, such a simple but ingenious system. Is there any reason you don't seem to use penetrative spray before undoing old bolts?

Hi Dan, what did you spray into the glass bowl when you cleaned it out? I noticed you didn't put stabiliser on when you put the Stanhay drill on the tractor. Don't you use them?
@CowfarmerDan
2 жыл бұрын
Just some brake cleaner. The drill follows well enough without stabilisers.
@robertsmith98102 жыл бұрын
YOU cant beat the old type oil bath air filters When MF changed to dry air filters a neighbour wrecked his new MF135 by not keeping his air filter clean I should ad he farmed very sandy soil the sand got in the bores and acted as sand paper

If you are getting that muck in the bowl why is it not filling the gaze filter in the tank?
@CowfarmerDan
Жыл бұрын
There may not be one in the tank. I'd sooner have it in the bowl and clean it out easily than bunging up the tank filter and stopping the fuel flow.
@patrickaherne35982 жыл бұрын
You should leave it set-up like this, unless of course there's a storage issue.

Didn’t you have to put stabiliser bar on to keep it straight and rigid Dan.
@CowfarmerDan
2 жыл бұрын
No, it follows well enough once in the soil. If it's held rigid a small error in steering is magnified in the drill rows.

That engine does not sound right to me Dan . Sounds like one of its inlet valves is not seating .Maybe not enough valve clearance . By the look of the non standard dynamo bracket it was probably fitted with an alternator at some stage of its life .
