same, they could have used a bendier plastic for the guards but they are too rigid and snap easy, whole trimmer got thrown in the bin

The trimmer guard is too tight sir, that's probably the reason. What I'm doing there is just stretching or sanding it to loosen up a little, and don't forget to apply oil.
