    Our college age son regularly goes through the "rag" bags at a small community thrift store for those dingy torn shirts. He'll often have several at 50 cents each - because that is the cost of the entire bag - so, actually the thrift store makes more money overall. He knows how to treat them to bring them back to a wonderful condition. His degree? Art History!

    Nice! I have maybe 10 items. Looking to have a few more before I start my store... It's hard to find actual cool vintage worth picking up. I'm not trying to sling $10 I buy for 5 or $20 shirts I buy $10. Doesn't seem to be profit there after time/gas and fees. I feel like I gotta buy under $10 and the value has to be $40 and up to make it worth the time

Makes my day when I find something else or one of the vintage t shirts they didn’t get. It’s more miss than hit with vintage t’s but it’s the best when u find one. Happy hunting.

    Great episode with a lot of great advice. It's funny how what is hot changes over time. I have several old ringer shirts, but am waiting for them to comeback into style. 90's rap has eclipsed 70's & 80's rock in terms of value...though some of that is due to supply. As for Harley, black shirts w/ Made in USA do better than white shirts or those made outside the states. As for sourcing, I haven't located a "vintage" shirt in any Goodwill in years. I don't know if many of them are even making it out onto the floor. 90% of the shirts I see in Goodwill (and most thrift shops) have print-on tags☹

  • @TheOldTapeArchive

    @TheOldTapeArchive

    Жыл бұрын

    I let it sit in a warm/hot water wash with bleach for an hour (not too much bleach!), while also adding Shout or a similar stain remover on the darkest yellowing, incl under the arms. Rub gently with a cloth. If it's from years of sweat, the yellowing likely won't go away, but it may help a little. White Earnhardt shirts don't sell nearly as well as black from my experience, and most from post 2001 are not great sellers, because the shirt presses went into overdrive after he passed. And of course, the larger the better. Good luck!
