round 5, you mentioned slip st,ch1 and then hdc in the next st..aren't we supposed to make the 2hdc in the same stitch?

Is this for a a 2 year old?

I believe the written pattern is incorrect on round seven or the body of the hat. You do not tell in the pattern to skip, and then some crochet in the next three stitches you forget to put the skip, and I just want to make sure that I am correct in understanding, the tutorial versus the written pattern
