It's a great game. Unlike Minecraft or Valheim, or most procedurally generated games, it doesn't have hardcoded biomes. (Not to mock those games, they're still fun) Rather, there are regional variations in temperature, precipitation, geology, forest density, and other factors. So it has much smoother transitions and you don't get the problem where everywhere "looks the same". Even living in one spot, and not travelling much, it just feels more dynamic due to the changing of seasons, and more realistic wildlife. Ambience is all on point. Feels like I'm actually there when I'm playing.

they got inspired by a minecraft mod called terrafirmacraft, a good one... they should get inspired by more minecraft mods tho, like dynamic trees, the game would benefit alot from that

I enjoy the landmarks. the RNG makes some very great "natural" features that look amazing and at the same time help me navigate.

@@sirgrem2988 TFC changes a lot meaning to get any mod to work with it you'd have to completely rework said mod. It's why there's very few modpacks for Create as well, a lot that have it in, but very few that actually use it.

This game deserves all the love it gets, amazing work guys.

I'm in a group chat with two close friends, and we play games over Discord quite often. One of us found this video a few days ago. We finally got to play it last night. Went in blind, no research, nothing. All three of us completely new, knowing nothing but this video. Man, it's not easy. But we played for about six hours and had an absolute blast. We can't wait to play again tomorrow night!

My favorite aspect of this game is the serious attention to detail. Evey texture, plant, mineral, and animal in this game is so detailed and animated. I'm so excited to look for the new wildlife in my worlds

A hidden gem that will blow you away once you play it.

Wow, this is your best trailer by far. Every shot is amazing, and it really shows the depth of the game!

Absolutely stellar cinematography and scoring in this. Still blows me away that actually playing Vintage is as compelling, terrifying and cozy as these trailers make it out to be. You guys are making something really, *really* special.

Vintage Story is that one game that challenges the player to do their absolute best and improve on it without being unreasonable. 10/10 game.

How this game hasn't blown up is beyond me. Yeah, I get it can be tough...but that can be tweaked. The immersive nature and, for me, the crafting, draws me back every time. Love the game, great job Tyron!

No platform exposure I would guess is the reason it hasn't blown up. I am sure they have their reasons and respect the choice to limit their exposure. As long as they are making enough money to keep their dream alive that is probably enough for them! It will probably just slow them down considerably and that isn't the worst consequence in the world.

Seriously. This game is AMAZING. Tons of things to do. More people need to discover this amazing game.

absolutely love this game. I was hesitant to buy it but it was worth twice what i paid for it. some aspects feel familiar enough to minecraft that it wasn't too hard to get the hang of and i would absolutely recommend it to people who want a tougher, more detailed survival version of minecraft- but it is also very much its own robust and unique game. at no point did i ever think "i'm just playing modded minecraft." the progress is much slower and more detailed- you can expect to die a lot at first- but it makes everything feel much more rewarding without becoming frustrating. its survival also have some fairly impressive accuracy in some of its details. i actually learned a bit about real world processes by playing this.

Fans of modded minecraft really owe it to themselves to add this game to their library, it is beautiful and wonderful, carefully crafted with immensely satisfying gameplay. It's big work for big reward, as it takes what is the early game of Minecraft and fully fleshes it out into its own thing. I really do not want to spoil any of the hallmarks of progress, as there are so many, and they bring such flavor and atmosphere to the game, you should experience them for yourself and the sense of wonder it brings. I have about 60 hours in my world, and have survived my first winter, what an amazing and rewarding challenge that has been! Onto the next challenge.

Looks great. Vintage Story is probably the only game you'll ever catch me shilling for, I bought it two years back and never regretted it, the updates are all great and it's a super comfy game to play with a friend if you basically just want better rustic Minecraft.

You can't really compare to mc, since mc covers a MUCH broader range of gameplay. This is like a really cool minecraft mod, or like it's own game. Just because voxel art and survival doesn't make it minecraft. Looks really amazing though

the whole trailer is supreme. but the little details make it perfect. i laught too hard when i saw one hunter following a rooster and the other hunter running from a RAM xD i just couldn't help but laugh xD it was also super cute the tiny fox jumping into the ground

I cannot belive i never heard of this game untill yesterday. I had been hoping for a game that would take the basic concept of Minecraft but impove the survival aspect for YEARS and nobody ever told me that it already existed. I watched a few gameplays and immediately bought it. So far the atmosphere is amazing, it's everything i wanted for a creative sandbox with a heavy focus on survival. Really looking forward future updates and hopefully one day more people will discover it

I was about to write the same comment. Found out about it a couple hours ago and have been binging videos. I haven't bought it yet, but I already know I will love it. Even checked out the mods that might fill in some of the gaps for me and they are all there. With active development and community, I am pretty excited. It's just an issue of getting the word out there and increasing the scale, maybe.

@@ComradeCorwin seriously!! i have a bunch of unfinished games so i dont want to buy another one to sink time into, but this is legit my dream minecraft experience. at first i was like "wow, this game has a bunch of features i always mod into mc" and it turns out its that and so much more. it still looks a bit clunky, the ui especially, but im definitely buying this whenever im done with other games. it also doesnt look as ridiculously punishing as other indies like valheim (i still love it, but i stopped playing it a while ago because im always solo and the grind/effort is too annoying).

I don't even know how to describe my excitement whenever I see these trailers! All I do know is that you guys deserve more popularity with how well you guys manage these HUGE updates.

i love how "endure temporal storms" is inserted between "keep livestock happy" and "rotate crops". Got me hella confused lmao

This is gotta be my favorite trailer so far, so excited to try the new update now!

The trailer misses two amazing points IMO : the true weather model with real clouds and rain metrics, and realistic biomes distribution over latitudes.

Been playing this game and I gotta say, it is fantastic. This trailer is not misleading or "padded" at all, you really can do all of this and more. It's also very easy to connect and play with friends through VPNs for LAN. There's so much customizability, immersion, creativity, depth... I definitely endorse it!

It's great to see how much love and work has been continually put into this game over the last few years. Always walking the balance between beautiful relaxing nature and the hidden unsettling horror lurking nearby. Very impressive from such a small dev team! Quickly shaping up to be one of my favorites.

This is the game for you if Minecraft feels like literally child's play. This is harder, more mature. And the soul & heart from the Devs and the community makes it fantastic. I'd describe it as DwarfFortress in 3D. Without Dwarfs, though.

Seeing all those varied environments with such intense ambience, really makes me wish that the redwood forests had a bit more ambience. After all, redwoods in real life can get way bigger than just 2 meters in diameter and Douglas firs are also gigantic. Plus the forest floors are teeming with vegetation and wildlife. Even so, the ambience is unmatched! Exploration of a game has never seemed quite so wondrous.

Absolutely amazing.

The looming gears in temporal storms look really cool. And we can pet the animals now?? This game just gets better and better.

I hope you're all having as much fun developing the game as we are getting to watch these trailers showing all the new features. Good work!

How did I miss this trailer?? Man, I love this, easily capsulates so much of the content of this game to others when I try to pitch it!

I cannot believe this, its basically minecraft, but with all the things that i always wished minecraft had, how it is possible that mojang owned by microsoft isnt capable of doing such things. Im so glad i found this gem, will buy soon.

Vintage Story have vertical slabs, JUST that ALONE, Make the game WAY BETTER than Minecraft, and show than the devs care about their players, because Mojang, Even if they know than Vertical Slabs are like the most requested thing in the game since 10 years, refuse to add it in the game, with idiot excuses xD that can fake them like 5 minutes to add this; they just spit on their players faces and laugh about it lmao… btw in Vintage Story you can Still Move your character when you open your inventory or any chest, that such a simple quality of Life that Minecraft NEED ! And there is a LOT more things like that in Vintage Story ! A TRUE game made FOR PLAYERS, and with LOVE ! ❤

Bought it about a week ago, around 50 hours logged already, what an amazing game, very excited about improvements to water physics overhaul as I made my base on an island and It'll make the building and terrain forming experience much nicer!! Thank you very much for this amazing deep game, and it only gets better!! keep it up!

Because it’s an amazing game

I just recently started playing this with 4 friends. It's both hard and very interesting. We've barely scratched the surface of what you can do in this game and we're already super addicted. :)

Just adding my own voice to the chorus of praise for this game because, seriously, I cannot express with words how much I love this game! I want to give a sincere thank you to the devs for making this game; there is so clearly so much love put into this project and it shows with the incredible attention to detail. I've been playing for around three weeks now and am over 40 hours in, lol, but I think that's just a testament to how great this game is. It's so easy to get sucked in and it's become such a source of comfort for me during difficult times. Thank you so much for making this game, it really has been such a massive source of joy for me and I truly feel like a kid again when I play it, in the absolute best way.

This game desperately needs a Steam release, way more accessible this way.

They'd have to give 30% to Valve. They told repeatedly that they don't need to grow super fast: they have a stream of buyers which is good enough, and they only want to get more sales organically, thanks to word-of-mouth.

I'm so happy to have joined this game early on in the process, so I can see it evolve, and I can welcome so many new players.

I got into this game a couple of days ago and it's been the first game so far to give me the same feeling back when i first started playing minecraft as a kid, so much to explore and figure out. The progression is well balanced and challenging, though a couple points of criticism is that certain processes are very tedious and take too long, like hammering out plates on an anvil just to be able to make a couple lanterns, or making a clay storage pot (would be way better if we could select a line of voxels to place or break, alongside the existing 2x2 or 3x3 squares which aren't optimal to use a lot of the time). The days are in my opinion also too short, whenever i want to go out and explore a bit i can only really go about 1000 blocks out and then i already have to go back before nighttime comes. i've slowed the day cycle time to about half and that's made my experience significantly better. That's a huge upside too though, i love how configurable everything is so you have a lot of freedom in deciding how difficult you want your game to be! Given this game is only in early access, I can't wait to see what you guys have cooking up. I long for a survival experience where the world is truly dynamic and where its systems feel alive and interconnected

I would love to see one of those civilization videos that people do in minecraft done with Vintage story instead. it would be amazing to watch a civilization form with dedicated blacksmiths, bakers, farmers, statue makers and other art shops, and dedicated guards since creatures are more dangerous and metal is in shorter supply.

What a great idea! Vintage Story would actually be perfect for this sort of thing. Here's hoping the game goes big one day. I'd love for it to become as well known as Minecraft although that won't happen since Minecraft basically founded the genre of block games, there's no way to surpass that. But we can expect steady growth of the VS community which seems like one of the better game communities out there.

This is sort of what our friend group has done naturally, we have dedicated hunters and gatherers, blacksmiths, miners, architects, and so on. It's great to have a niche you love.

I can't wait for more updates, only going to be better and better, keep it up!

Cool! I liked the chase scene from the chicken with the simultaneous escape from the goat. The big gear in the sky is delightful. The cunning Arkan pretends to be Vietnamese. 😉

Amazing! I bought your game around 2019, and it never disappoints. I don't understand why hardly anyone has heard of Vintage Story, and hardly anyone talks about it. In my opinion, this is one of the best and most creative games of all time. Seriously!

This game really needs templates for builds and/or chiseling, most of us aren't artists, or have the time to put into the insane builds on display.

On the other hand, the absence of templates increases the value of finished works of art. If you want templates, there is a mod called "Workbench expansion" that allows you to copy chiseled works of art.

Well I think there needs to be a solution to allow non-artists to make things that look decent. Workbench expansion doesn't give you access to other peoples creations, so it simplifies repetitive tasks, but you still need to create and design the original shapes, and besides, structure templates are more important, like a windmill for example

I can’t wait to see this update fully released and the next update has me really hopeful as well keep up the absolutely amazing work
