Interesting. I've had a lot of gear over the years. Some nice Rotel amps, Hitachi SR802 Receiver which I still have but needs a repair to the output stage, A few Sansuis, AU 101, AU222a and 555a. I always come back to the Sansui. The one constant for nearly 50 years is my Tannoy HPD385a 15" monitors. They make anything sound good, and make Sansuis sound Great. The warmth and richness is astonishing for such lower end amps. I don't have a TT anymore, but even wifi streaming to an  Airport connected to the 555 is really quite acceptable for my 70 yo ears. Piano solos, vocals, strings, all picked out. I can even put up with good jazz, which isn't my thing, but Pepper or Coltrane works. But the setup can rock when I feel like it. Good way to meet the neighbours! Never felt the need to show off with a Macintosh or the like, but imagine the Tannoys would shine if I did. But then I'd need a TT again....

Those Tannoy's look fantastic. I am always on the lookout for a 555a or 505 just to add to the collection. Think that will be me done by then. I am happy with the sound im getting out of these low budget amps. If I win the lottery one day then Ile look them Tannoy's up. Thanks for the comment

Hi Michael, I still remember when you discussed the Sansui 200. I kind of liked the idea of a cheap low power Sansui receiver, so after that video I went straight to eBay to look for one. It was not there, but there was a Sansui 800 for sale. Something like €129,- which seemed an OK price to me. So I bought it. It turned out to be cosmetically the best HiFi item I have (and I only buy cosmetically good items). So I am well pleased with that. Anyway, I guess that makes you an "influencer"!! Well deserved, I must say, cheers.

Absolutely, it's about enjoying music. KZreadrs often burn themselves out, which turns their passion into a tiring job. Breaks are necessary, just like with any normal job. I know you mentioned that you're not an expert, but your personal advice has helped me find a love for monitor audio. The B2 on stands, pine speaker, and pine stand I got from Etsy for £90 have a beautiful design in my bedroom. This setup made the sound stage twice as good, and the music feels like it's everywhere, which I hear is a good thing. It's hard to get honest advice online because many KZreadrs have contracts or sponsorship deals, which can make their videos biased. Your advice is definitely better. Thanks again, Michael.
