This is dope, IMO, it's better to create the soul loop at a slower tempo then speed it up when finish and pitch it up a few semitones or so. Just gives it a different feel

Yeah Fl studio is great, i also use ableton aswell but they for sure have different workflows

FL excels in MIDI. So, you learn how to do MIDI and then you can make good songs from scratch. Pro Tools is more for recording bands, and idk the strengths of the other ones.

@@dantepatel Ableton really excels from what I've seen at manipulating audio you've recorded. I see a lot less people make complex midis in Ableton and instead opt for recording in something they've played by hand with a midi keyboard and forcing its quantization with Ableton warp markers

Sounds really good but a real sample just hits different doesnt feel as controlled and im saying this as someone who doesnt use full song samples (because kontakt and drum packs are samples i have to say this) i prefer an entire unique melodic development but it never hits as hard as big band music.

yeah i fully get that, re-creating things that are just so unique and humna can be a real task unless you can play the mulitude of instruments real sample use, never mind the range of different equiptment and sound spaces they record in

So each chord progression has a set of numbers to go alongside it, for instance C Major would go c,d,e,f,g,a,b meaning that would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 :) so whatever key im in im using the 1-6-4

As good as it sounds and it has that typical Barry White sample in it, it’s nothing like vintage soul even though that’s a very broad term to describe a specific sound, that little voice sample made it impossible to any area that could labeled as vintage soul, you doing great but don’t be callin something the most easy by far while demonstrating why it’s anything but that
