Believe it or not, I was brought here by a post on a forum (RedLineDerby) dedicated to racing little Hot Wheels on tracks. Great car show, I was left riveted to the screen taking in the history on display!! Getting to see and hear them run was pure gravy!
Great video! I am part of the group of Austin Healey Bugeye Sprites and Mg Midgets, thanks for all of the great footage of our cars and our group! I will pass it along to all the drivers involved!
Fantastic video. Thanks for posting. Great automobiles. The 1300 Cosworth BDH is a real screamer. Small displacement but high revolutions. And yes that was a Ford Capri sold by Mercury here in the states. Fantastic racer in Europe. Cheers from Texas
I thoroughly enjoyed the paddock tour (and a few race laps) of the PIR vintage race event.
Fun footage of my VW! Thanks for posting it.
It was great to see footage of the Sprites and Midgets, so I think we can forgive the odd slip up with identifying some of those European Ford saloons! Also, interesting to see that green MGB GT LBL591E which was a works entry in the 1967/68/69 Sebring 12 hours races

Yes, actually it owns me…..
great stuff thanks
My favorite thing you showed there was the '54 chevy pickup towing the Healey 100/4!

I thought that was pretty cool, wasn't sure if the truck was on a modern but if it has an original drivetrain that makes it even cooler.

I have a '62 Willys Jeep Station Wagon and a '63 VW Beetle (both are bone stock) and I'm hoping to flat-tow the beetle behind the Jeep after the Jeep is restored.@@ThisWeekWithCars
Great video... my neighbors had a brand new 67 MGB GT when I was growing up. It was graphite gray with a red Interior. I'll never forget that car!!
Pretty sure the red sports racer is a Lola Mk1. Coventry Climax power. There was only one built with Ford power that ran ran here in VARAC.
Croz-lee, not Cross-ell. Loved that Austin pick-up. Citroen DS has inboard front discs. Missed the Capri and it's a Cortina not a Consol. (edit, and I'm pretty sure that 914 was a 916 or 916 clone)
Hey < steve, hope you are doing well. The#2 Midget is the ex Cat Kizer championship winning car in HP back in the late 70s, #21 Midget I forget the guy's name but he showed up at Waterford Hill in in 2016 for the MGVR MG focus event and won the small bore class, that guy can drive. The two MGB GTs are Ralph Z's cars, they are original factory works cars.
Welcome to Portland!
The Orange 'Escort' wasn't, it was a Capri with a mk1 Cortina behind, next a mk2 Cortina and finally the 'Consul' also wasn't although the bonnet badge says it is LOL - this was also a very early Mk1 Cortina - very distinctive rear wings, tail lights and finished in Lotus colours. Don't beat yourself up - these must be relatively rare cars in the USA!.

Really enjoyed the video. The Cortina was a midsize car in the Consul range originally to be called the Consul 225 with the base model " big" car being the Consul 375. The range was topped by the Zephyr and Zodiac models. There was a mini Impala called the Consul Capri and a four door Consul Classic too. I grew up with those cars and learned to drive in a Mk 3 Zephyr with a bench seat and column change. It was a big car for UK roads.

The early Mk 1 Cortinas were called Consul Cortinas, the Consul later being dropped, the one in the vid being a 1500GT
Crosslé racing cars were/are built in Northern Ireland and the company still exists. They started in 1957 and are possibly the world's oldest surviving racing car constructors.
Hi Steve . My goodness ! All of these cars looked to be immaculately prepared and l had no idea how popular our european cars were . And that guy with that 1300 cosworth certainly knew his stuff . So were you racing or just spectating ! Thanks Steve .
There can't be too many original (non-replica) Lotus 11s still running? Here in Australia those little Ford-engined open wheelers races as Formula Junior, then later as Formula Ford. Thanks for the video, Steve, hugely enjoyable!

The class these were racing was called Club Ford.
Fantastic😃😎
Great video, especially the walk around. I’ve never heard of a few of those. And I can’t believe racing and unnecessarily burning fossil fuels is still legal in Portland. 😁
I had some friends who raced a Crossle Formula Ford. They're very cool, look them up. I think the formula specifies that Kent engine. Also it's pronounced "Cross-lee."
I did not see any Triumph's TR's or spitfire??
Any Mini`s there?
Was there any Triumph race cars?? I did not see any.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hum 😂 Ford Capri , that we need to know more about please , was it an RS ? and the second Escort was a Sierra 😅 . Some lovely motors there , thank you .
