Today I attempted to get our Old Massey Square Baler going. How did it go? You tell me! Why do I keep buying this stuff?!
Жүктеу.....

Big Mike!! I’ve been where you are. I’m not saying that I know what is wrong BUT…. 2 things: balers are “timed” there are many timing marks on several different places on the baler. I never would have been able to find all of mine without the manual that I purchased off of eBay. It’s worth it’s weight in gold. There is a “safety” catch/blocker thingy that will prevent that plunger from moving back and busting the needles if it’s out of “time”. My baler would trip the safety catch when the needles were all the way down but the swing arm wasn’t fully seated because it needed a little more lube and use. Good Luck, man I wish I was there to help you work through this!!!

@@BigMikesHooptyBarn After a quick KZread search on the model 12 it seems that the plunger seizing up is a common problem, so it seems that your on the right track!!

Nice! I actually traded out. Now I have a New Holland 273 Hayliner. I will be posting video of it in use soon. Good luck with your hay adventure!

We had a New Holland baler when I was a kid. Something has to be out of time on it for the plunger not to move. Or the plunger is seriously rusted in place. Good luck!

Hopefully you have found an operator's manual. I have the #12 wire tire baler, back in the day they were probably great but, now they are well worn! Oil and grease, a 2x4 and a 8# hammer to get it unstuck, if you're still dealing with it.

Big Mike, I hate to say it, but looks like you got HAD. Looks like the plunger, the big big squareish thing with the "arm" hooked to it, is rusted tight. A LOT of your favorite spray lube, a porta-power of some sort and lots of prayer, may get it unstuck. Sorry Buddy 😢.

Yeah I tried everything short of disassembly to move the Plunger to no avail. Now it's up for sale for parts! I don't have any more time to waste on it.
