OMG piercing bars!?! Genius. Inspired.

I just bought a Warduke with a broken leg so I'll follow these instructions

You've been one of the only channels that cover repairing advanced dungeons and dragons and it's a great service to the community. Been repairing these for a couple years and currently need one leg for a warduke I've been working on . Successfully opened a strongheart and replaced the o ring without damaging the figure using tactics learned on this channel. Thanks Dave !

Yeah! My first issue Strongheart snapped his t-bar sometime in, I dunno, 1985? It only lasted a couple of years. That annoyed me so much even at my young age that I've still got all the parts saved, and now I'm gonna fix him back up. Thanks!

Thanks for making this video. My Warduke and Strongheart figures that need repairs like this. I could buy complete ones off of ebay, but the ones I have are from when I was a kid back in 1984. So, they have sentimental value.

Very inventive repair with the piercing bar Dave, but for me the tip about using a fine chisel to more cleanly open the leg than a knife was my favourite bit of the repair (I've almost mutilated a toy using the knife). Nicely done sir!

First time watching a Toy Polloi video and this had my nostalgia itch going crazy. I don't know why I never thought about fixing some of my old figures.

Sold all my D&D Yonks ago, it never did it for me. Now I'm getting getting excited by them.

Picked up a broken Titan for £2 recently with broken legs. Yet again, Toy Polloi has the fix! Thanks Dave! How on earth did you think of piercing bars?!?

After seeing the first figure, I wish I had kept my figures and fixed Warduke. I think I would have been able to get him together. Oh well, hopefully, the person who bought them from me was able to fix him.

Yeah. They were better with toys than they were with video games!

That damaged and worn wizard looks remarkably like the 'evil' version of the wizard in Krull...

Great video as usual. May I suggest a small amount of loctite threadlock on the piercing bar balls to help stop them working loose over time

Idk, maybe some plastic pry bars with small plastic wedges or toothpicks. Not as easy to find as metal tools but plastic is a bit like wood in how metal tools can gouge and mark surfaces unintentionally. Like I don't think I'd trust my hand steadiness using a knife. ;) Nice range of figures though, like the giants and regular height contrast. I didn't have much luck inquiring about larger T-hooks because I couldn't figure out who was making the GI Joe sized replacements, plenty of vendors but I don't know who has the factory. O_o??? Still I think with a list of applicable toylines for the larger T-hook a campaign could be made for them. :)

The unclothed Ringlerun is screaming out for a custom Gandalf or Saruman outfit.

When splitting joints like that, I have a set of stainless steel sculpting tools, in particular small spatulas, that I try use before a knife. I find they usually do the job and very seldom do I cut myself with them. Have you worked on the Dragonne(lion dragon/lion drake) toy from this line of toys?

Watching him pry the legs apart with his Swiss Army Knife made me very nervous. I was a little scared he would cut himself. He didn't though, so that is okay.

I do not think I am the only one who hopes you will wear chainmail in the future sir. The figures are restored, but it should never be at the cost of your fingers.

I do wonder how many KZread viewers would remember the original of that intro???

Also wonder if visionaries t bars would work for the big figures. I'm pretty sure cops n crooks would be way to big

They would, but they are hard to find as well. They also fit Transformers Action Masters figures, also rare.

Soaking the Titans legs in hot water to make them more flexible wouldn't work?

Does that sort of plastic soften up at all when put in boiling water?

Not really. It's the wrong sort of plastic.

Those bars would be pot metal yeah? If so use a broken one, glued back together to make a high temp silicone mould. Zinc alloys have a low melting temp and can be cast into silicone moulds.

Can you fix crash dummies?

The tabs wich held the limbs on were prone to breakage.

Ahhhh, my weekly Dave fixes something ,uh, fix! So gratifying! By the way, would a glue solvent work, like something that dissolves super glue, for instance? Also, have you played around with coming up with a way to constructor's a ball joint system that could replace the t-bars?

Couldn't you just soak the legs in some boiling water for awhile to soften the plastic and then pull out the old t-bar?

They are not made of that type of plastic. Heat won't soften this stuff. Cheers

"Man handling" needs to be a real scientific term.

Would Metal Weld work to put those back together?

Not sure. it's a very small area to fix so would most likely no be strong enough.
