I also really like this photo, but didn't you just tell us in your last video that we should not have "stuff grow out of peoples heads".... probably this is the exception, which proofs the rule :)

I love this lens. I use to shoot with it all the time on my R8. I have not used it as much lately. Your beautiful work with the lens you shared, has made me dust it off and shoot it on the SL3 for awhile.

I find it to a much bigger upgrade than I expected. I am loving the files and how far I can push the high ISO. Opens up a lot of ideas. I still have my SL2 and may keep the 28M sum micron on the SL2 and use the SL3 for all other lenses. @@AskMOTT

I have very limited working experience with the SL2S. I really do not do video and with the M10M for High ISO work just kept the SL2 Maybe I will start to dabble in Video with the SL3 @@AskMOTT

Good my friend. Ur right. Other passions have been fueling me of late. It happens. Without paid gigs (retired) or travel, my photography has waned. But it is always a pleasure to live vicariously thru you!

Thank you. That was a very useful video. I didn't even know that "macro" lenses existed. I'm not sure that my closest Leica store knows about macro lenses. I'll ask. As a side note, the Vietnamese model in your video was beautiful. She's definitely an asset to your 'photo-tour' business.

I simply use a few extensions tube attachements when I need some macro, looking at the Pana/Lumix 100 f2.8. That focus throw on the 100mm R is a bit too much. Super nice shots as always. Congrats on the SL3.

can we talk about that slayer espresso machine? :-p

I shoot Nikon (F3, Z 6II, Z9), but would love to pick up a Leica someday. I recently picked up the NIKKOR Z MC 105 f/2.8 VR S. The main reason I got it was to scan film, but it opened up really interesting opportunities for some creative shots. Macro lenses, especially in this focal length, make great portrait lenses. I'm enjoying your videos a whole lot! And I love your work. Thank you for sharing with us!

Actually, since I started using Leicas, the only lens I’ve been drawn to on my Canon cameras is the EF L 100mm 2.8. Seems the .7m minimum distance of shooting on the M cameras leads us to craving macro lenses. 😅

On the Leica M10 with a visoflex I’ve shot with a Nikon 105 f2.8 AiS Micro that works great. Also used this on a Z8 with a Fotodiox Propronto AF adapter and takes this lens and all my other Leica lenses to a whole new level. This adapter adds an extra level of close focus to reduce the MFD of even LTM lenses that typically have MFD’s of 1 m.

the lens kinda sucks, however you're able to select you best shots and drop some fine tuning touch. you found taste, on it.

Thanks for this video! I have tremors (my hands shake) so I had originally thought I needed to rely on auto focus. My lens of choice for macro with my SL2 has been Sigma's 105mm macro, which I adore. As I've grown in photography, I've come to understand that although auto focus is nice to have sometimes, I don't need it. Now that I have a manual camera, I've pushed myself past the myth that I need auto focus. Does focus peaking work for these lenses you checked out?
