An In(out) Law gifted me his mother's deceased boyfriend's 55 LP JR. It arrived in a destroyed original alligator paper carry case. A very hip man of color. It sat in a closet tuned up way too much and for way too long. I immediately took it to a luther. I have a large number of cool old and new guitars, but there is indeed something profoundly special about my LP JR.. Needs no EFX. Has a nasty growl and all my guitar mates are waiting for me to croak, so's they can sweet talk my amazing wife into parting with it, before I even am cold and in the ground. Changed the wraparound tail piece for one that improved the intonation on this beast of a guitar. Traipsing through the back room of a guitar shop in Poughkeepsie NY, I stumbled upon the Exact Original alligator case in perfect condition, which the store owner gladly GAME me. Bagged that up and have the axe in a HSC. Bought a reissue LP JR as I didn't like taking mine to gigs, afraid it might vanish or get busted. That new expensive LP JR was for shite. There's something magical about the mahogany and an aged dog eared P90. Thanks for reading. I am deeply in love with my 55 JR. It was, and is a wonderful gift. May you have such good luck... Leslie West destroyed many lp jr's just by playing them and sweating on them. God Bless Leslie...may he RIP. Peace out and Rock like there's no tomorrow. Keep it real...

A Les Paul Jr. and a 5e3 tweed deluxe. Like a rabid she wolf in heat at midnight next to a liquor store burnin' down. The kine tone.

A lesson in pure tone for sure. Somebody spend their whole life searching for tat sound when all you need is a '50s Gibson with a single coil into a classic fender amp. Awesome!

Just killer. P90+Tweed=perfection. Doug, your demos are always awesome. Perfect balance between explaining the instruments and then shuttin' up and showing 'em off.
