Boy she don't know how to use that percolator! The cover does not twist off you pull it back or side ways and the percolator basket and basket cover latch on to the little hook on the heating element! I've been using that same model corning ware perk since 1973and it still works to this day with no problems!!!!!

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't sure if mine was working right. I bought it recently off ebay. I've had stovetop percolators but never an electric one. My electric percolator seemed to perk slow and not actively compared to the stove top ones but after seeing this video I guess its just how it works. Thanks so much for sharing the whole perking process also. Now I know the length of time mine is perking, same as the video, is correct also.

I have a stove top corning ware 9 cup percolator. My mother got it for me at the antique store. makes awesome coffee. in my opinion, the corning ware pots make a smoother tasting coffee. I use my Hamilton Beach electric to save time during the week to save time.

When the redlight comes on it stops percing, and just keeps the coffee warm. No need to revome the basket assembly before pouring the coffee.

I think the reason the taste is so good (better than drip) is because it perks so long and grabs every bit of flavor out of the coffee - any brand.

Why didn't you stop filming while it was perking

Clever how that located the connector where it cannot be overlooked before grabbing the handle.

My parents had one like that in the 60s and early 70s, except i believe theirs you had to heat on the stove element.

Do you use regular grind coffee? I LOVE my two Corning Electric pots and always used regular grind from stores made for drip pots - so just learned to grind whole beans in blender and food processor to coarse grind ---- I did another pot - realized I had not let perk long enough

I found my mother’s but the cord is missing. Could you furnish any information about the cord that would help me find a replacement?

I have one of these, but the cord is lower. I was told these were recalled because the metal around the handles could break and could spill hot coffee all over you. This scared me so I’ve been afraid to use it any more.
