Vintage Coin Changer

Ойын-сауық

McGill high-speed coin changer. This is a great example of a change device that would have been used all over the world to provide change in arcades, casinos, etc.

You're not likely old enough to remember, but I seem to recall those were more for "making change". More commonly used at businesses like gas stations and drive up restaurants, where walk up and drive up customers needed to receive change after their purchases, without the attendant or waitress having to run back inside to get change from a register. When 3 gallons of gas was dispensed at a "full service" station in the 1960's there was still change from a dollar. Then again my first visit to Vegas wasn't until the mid 1980's where you'd just use casino struck coins or entire rolls of quarters. Cool blast from the past!

Back in the day, in the old country. those were used most by people in the industry of public transportation, mainly bus, and taxi drivers.
