    Flocking hell! Good job with the new beard! There is so much detail in the Action Man stuff. I took it for granted when I was a kid. It really was a golden age for toys. Did you hear that they are reissuing some of the classic Action Men this year? I forget what company was doing it, but they seemed pretty pricey when I looked.

    I am not surprised that the sailor seems to be absolutely drunk, at the beginning of the video. The poor fellow was clearly tortured by a sadist! I'm glad he was able to count on you to, literally, put him back on his feet again. And that part where you teach how to flock heads, will help me a lot! Thanks!

    The pinholes can be made less noticeable and unsightly, by taking a burner gun (either a chefs one or a blowtorch on a lower flame) and gently passing it over the affected areas, making sure nit to leave it on one spot for two long. It should slightly melt the holes, causing them to either close up or at least encourage the plastic to spring back to a less noticeable state. It is also good for bringing back the shine to old, dulled plastics as long as its done correctly. Its best to practice on old broken parts first. But impirtantly, remember, you are not trying to melt the plastic or burn it, you are trying to just slightly heat the plastic up to a state where the plastics original shape-memory kicks in. Its not a perfect repair but better than leaving it. Another way is to rub baking soda in to the holes, blob a bit of superglue over each hoke, then place it under a uv lamp for a minute, then scrape the excess off with a stanley blade, and paint if needed.

I dont know wether it works on a head or body but I had some heavy red ink AM Hard hand , I put it in boiling water with a bit of Asda washing up liquid left it watched a film and went back to the hand in tea cup when cold, took it out( the ink was still on the hand) gave it a rub with kitchen towel and it came off!! Result. The inked hand was a write off so in for a penny in for a pound and the water and washing up liquid did the job...hope this helps I future restorations

    I really have enjoyed your restoration videos. You sir are very creative. What are the LEGO rods you used, Do they have a part number? I'm not familiar with LEGOS. Also would you know what color acrylic paint would match Mike Power's hair? I'm working on restoring two, one to the way he originally was made, and the other with two atomic legs, arms, thanks to Cotswolds, and a working LED eye, but both have considerable hair and eyebrow rubs. Did you ever come up with a good solution to repairing talker shoulder joints? I purchased the Cotswolds kit, but they didn't come with new rods and I don't know where I could source them. Plus since this is a talking astronaut, I'd like to have him as much original as possible.

  • @toypolloi

    I'm not that great on Lego either. I just search on ebay. I use Lances, Aerials, technic axel, connector pegs. Bricklink is a good website to check out what you can get. I will always mention the part I use in each video. I haven't fix the arm on a talker yet. It might be easier to just find a spare arm. The come up pretty often.

    @dbsimms63

    Toy Polloi Actually I took the Cotswolds repair piece, cut into the slit, spread it a bit, and slid it onto the post. The plastic is rigid enough to allow it to be cut, but yet stay in place around the head of the shoulder and keep it nice and tight when put in place and the screws tightened down. I just need an acrylic paint for his eyebrows, looks like a light brown and my astronaut will be finished.

    +Big_sless Thanks for subbing and watching. I seem to have that affect on people's collecting habits quite often. They are great figures though. I am properly hooked on action man now. I will do a collection video on them soon.

    Toy Polloi i remember 1 of the things that i liked about action man was the mess kit with fork, knife and spoon, one of my favourite clothes sets was the white army ski set, just a pity that the ski poles were a bit too fragile

    Wow, someone used it as a damn voodoo doll. Let us know if you start having any paranormal issues with it.

    Looks like someone really wanted a dart board for Christmas but got an action man instead...
