It never gets old - Check out our Blown / Injected vintage 392 HEMI one more time - This time with some vintage FED goodness included in the video. Connie Kalitta’s spare chassis from the 1968 season. This 392 HEMI is a rare time capsule littered with a cluster of vintage speed equipment from top to bottom. A 392 is " the best engine that is possible to mass produce " ( the directive to the engineers back in the 1940's , from Keller ). I think it was Keller anyway I may be wrong. What I don't know is if the original engineers were on board with the deck height increase of the 392 ( from the 331 - 354 ). There is so much lost in time on these engines and building one is worse as far as knowing what to believe and not. There is plenty of trial and error history to show what doesn't work I suppose ( Garlitts says that the strongest engines ran close to stock 392 ). I have heard that the 354 engines are the ones that you can increase with positive results but the guy who told me this is long gone. All of these engines are fantastic for sure !!!
