Please remember that if you have clicked on an etsy ad in the last 2 months that the website will take 50% of the money from all of your etsy purchases. This robs sellers into the red. I personally use a secondary device to ensure the seller is paid all of their earnings😀

Back in the ‘60’s, if you went to Cosmetology schools in California, Finger Waves was a crucial class that you had to pass or you couldn’t graduate and take the State Board exam. We used a liquid type gel solution and used our index and middle finger instead of clamps. Some of us were good at doing the whole head. And they were graded on how complete and without breaks in the ridges we created on the heads.

I went to cosmetology in the 90s and we did it the same way. It was difficult at first but i rose to the top of my class of 40+ students and made the best S wave ridges, deep and pronounced S wave troughs. I used to struggle with it but then once i got the hang of it, I loved it so much! However, I never liked the scent of liquid pomade. 😂

Like that sounds a bit insecure dude, how old are you? I'd suggest wearing things you like because you like them. Regular normal leftists don't gaf what your style is because that's the point of freedom of expression. Saying "the woke leftists won't like it" is like me pointing to the alt-right and assigning all of their values to every moderate conservative. Do you think that's appropriate? @@erinparsonsmakeup Don't worry, old books will likely teach you better than most beauty schools. I had some help from teachers, but they usually hated them as much as the students, so most of my learning in school was done from our cosmetology textbook, which, since it was modern, didn't have anywhere near as good instructions as the period/contemporary instructions written for people who would actually do this every day. Once I went straight to the source, the instructions were a lot more clear and detailed, and it made practicing them much easier.

I remember having an emotional meltdown in cosmetology school trying to get my finger waves right with just my fingers lol

I spent way too many years disliking my 3 and 4 B curls. I cut my hair- actually shaved it a year ago and now wake up naturally looking like this but with shorter hair. I get stopped in public by people complimenting my waves. Watching your videos with wave tutorials really inspires me to lean in to the 20s and 30s vibe. You make it look easy and are so beautiful!

I would have never been able to survive this era partly because of the hairstyles. I can put my hair in a pony tail or straighten it and that’s it. You get two looks. Bravo to anyone who can do hair.

I’m curious what setting lotion you were taught to use? I never went to cosmetology school I just learn from reading old books. But t takes me hours to do these 😅

@@erinparsonsmakeup I honestly don’t remember, that was almost 25 years ago. We had a huge tub of gel and it was probably not a brand name. I used Dippity Do and brush rollers when I was in high school in the late 60s early 70s. I had a whitish lipstick c. 1965 and I wish that I had kept the tube. It was mod white with hot pink and black polka dots on the case. I watched your roller set short video and your hair looked great! I have a suggestion, try to roll the hair and place the roller “on base”. You get a better style. I love your videos and told my sister about you. 💕
