I actually saw Vinnie with Kiss, unlike a lot of people on youtube...but although I'm a huge Ace fan..he was a fantastic guitarist who influenced many players, without being super techni6like say Eddie Van Halen. Vinnie on the other hand played pop and rock before moving on to hard rock and metal. His style is a shredding style that came to it's for in the 1980's ..I saw him in 1983. Hes actually a great guitarist and could have been up there with Randy Rhoads ...Rhoads copied Schenker and Van Halen ( Eddie didn't like Rhoads style but said he was decent enough player). The problem Vinnie had was although he could play technical solos like Rhoads and Van Halen amongst other stuff, he tended to go a little overboard. You could argue this was the style at the time as other guitarists did the same. Yes I agree. He also was hard to get along with ( tell me of a guitarist who isn't?) All in all if he was in a band with more personal lyrics style and better singer than his Vinnie Vincent's Invasion band I think he would be talked about in a higher regard.

@@DougCanney1That's cool. I'm a bisexual male and I've always found Vinnie to be very sexually attractive, especially in 1986. He looked so cool back then and I still love his music (his first two albums), and of course, his guitar playing when he was with Kiss.

@@bobby1970 That's absolutely not a factor, But I've never found him to be a good player or really good looking, he does kind of look like a chick. Interesting that I would talk to someone who is bisexual, cuz I always thought that was a myth. I always thought bisexual people were just.... Lazy. It's like "Send someone in, as long as they have genitals IT'S ON". I appreciate your comment, be well.
C'on his AWESOME!
Awesome shred with some moments of frustration. A band like kiss should've been able to tolerate these moments in a song like this & backed him up. I know for a fact Eric would've loved it! Anything goes in rock n roll, give'em his moment. Remember, one for all & all for one.👍
Vinnie es el mejor así sea extremo todo lo que hace es perfecto
That is a strange definition of beautiful.
El mejor guitarrista que tubo kiss

He’s miming all the ASG solos on that tape. He does play the VVI album ones live. That is the extended original solo to Ashes to Ashes that got cut in half before release. He’s miming it.

Yes he's miming it like a fuckin boss too, not easy to tell, it indicates that he knows this solo by heart and it's not improvised. There were a couple from the debut album as well like "Animal" and some other one. Animal is one of my fav solo that he did

Vinnie is the love child of evh and yngwie.
I always loved his style of playing - it's super effortless and always on the edge of being a little bit to chaotic and over the top but it always stays just below that threshold and still sounds kickass somehow... if that makes any sense.

To me, his style in the 80's was very close to what Randy Rhoads (RIP) was doing. That's why i never understood why he ended up with Kiss, instead of Ozzy.

It's all about shredding, but it's so pretty solo, first part sounds romantic. I think, if solo will be rearranged from hundreds of 32 notes and shred will be used only for culmination, it will be awesome 😍

After hearing his early solo stuff he will never sound over the top to me, incredible singer and songwriter. I hear the beauty even in his shredfests now, kinda like Shawn Lane in his melodic and musical depth that allows it to still shine through even when shredding.

The most impressive part of vinnies playing , to me, and the part most people never comment about or miss, is his right hand technique. Ive neber seen another rock player utilise such a fully integrated chickin pickin technique before or since.

My favorite parts is when he goes off the rails. We’ve all heard tapping patterns. But the wild bends etc is what I’m here for.

Devoid of any emotion. Glad he lasted as short as he did.
Wow ! He's amazing.
50 to 60 seconds. How do you go from that intensity to making your guitar sound like a cello? Reason I started playing when I heard my older brothers version of thier debut album. And then I heard randy rhoads and I was all in
I saw Kiss on the Dressed To Kill tour in NY when I was 17. Just before Alive 1 came out. They kicked ass. I saw Vinnie with Kiss in the early 80s. I never heard of him at the time. I thought he was alright. Even though he was no Ace Frehley on guitar. Ace had feel. Vinnie was all flash. But he was ok on guitar that night. I think people are a little hard on him after all these decades. I never got to see Kiss with Bruce or Tommy. But from the videos, Bruce was good. Tommy? I'm sure he's a good player but....Remember this people. Nobody played Ace licks like Ace. Just put on the first three albums again. frankny65yroldwhitekid rockfan

I agree..I'm a huge Ace Frehley fan..but when your talking about 1980's shredding style ( and I've seen Vinnie in 1983 with Kiss) ...you have Vinnie easily up there with Schenker, Rhoads etc. Rhoads gets his style from Van Halen and Schenker..but Vinnie doesnt get the credit of say Rhoads, I dont think Rhoads is way above him at all.

@@cooperblackley1585 Personally I think Vinnie has faster and cleaner technique but Bruce had a better style/fit with Kiss. Id say Vinnie was their best guitarist technically and theoretically but Bruce was their best musician.
*Why is Vinnie Vincent not in memory as Randy Rhoads made a career like Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai or Inwie Malmstein... What was his mistake, if he is so virtuous???*
Vinnie Vincent the ultimate shredder guitar player there's times when he sounds like one of the best hard rock guitar players around then there's other times when he plays something that's just uncalled for and comes out of left field, very very talented but sometimes he just needs to slow it down sum.
