Exotic.Tofu Exactly. All the major cymbal manufacturers make great products, they just each have their own characteristics. I currently have three kits set up each with a different brand of cymbal. One with Zildjian A's and K's, another with Sabian AAX's, HH's and Paragons, and the last with Paiste 2002's. Each sound great on their own. It's only when I compare them side by side that I can say one is more or less to the other. Well actually most people know that you really have to pick Zildjians & Sabian cymbals at the factory or inventory outlets where you can try a few of the very same cymbal. Paiste are so consistent so its acquire a matching set and replace as needed sans audition unless its a altogether different cymbal... If it turns out a cymbal's timbre is not your 'sound', I wouldn't assume it's really anything other than 'different', not Bad or Good...unless the cymbal is cracked or warped, or REALLY sucks (bottom of the barrel Camber cymbals from early 70's etc). Me, I play all the big guys Z/S/P. But MAN this is about Vinnie and his choice of cymbals.
