Hey everyone! Here's my reaction to episode 24 of Vinland Saga! WOOOOOWWWW what a finale! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Can't believe I fell for it when Askeladd started going nuts!!!! I really thought this would be some poetic turning of the tables of his and Thorfinn's situations; but no, right to the very end, even though it meant sacrificing himself, he was acting to put Canute into a better position. Dang!!! His conversation with Thorfinn was a tearjerker!!! Also Thorfinn, that boy is driving me nuts!!!! Every time I think he's gonna have a breakthrough, he just breaks through something in a rage LOL. Who were those characters at the end?! I can't for the life of me figure it out! Great ep and great series! Really rooting for a season 2! Thanks for joining me! Enjoy! ~ MH

This is exactly what happens now in his story about his mom & artorius. Artorius comes back to save his country from savages in the same way askeladd stepped up to save his country/mother's grave from savages (swern's army). He became the hero his mother waited so long for, he saved canute & thereby protecting the welsh people under canute's rule, told thorfinn to move on & asked how he'll live his life after all this. Didn't tell him about floki because he wanted him to move on. What a fantastic end for askeladd. Joker once said that "in their last moments, people show who they really are." The priest from this show also said that "death perfects a person." Both thors & askeladd died in thorfinn's arms. Edit- Askeladd did hear thors talking about what a true warrior means & that he doesn't need a weapon/sword...before their battle starts in ep 4. He even asked thors to become their leader after hearing that remember. Hope you continue watching Vinland saga. There's less action & more character development especially for Thorfinn in s2.

@@YoualrightboiIt's a seinen tarugo. The ending is open for the next arc in sailing to Vinland (modern day Canada)

It's INSANE to me that some people can watch this without crying

The look on Thorfinn's face before attacking Canute, I'd describe as "devastated confusion" because now he has no goal and due to the state he was in, did something stupid and paid the price. It's a look that to this day gives me chills

Most people do think of thorfinn as the hero who'll kill the big bad villain askeladd but i never thought of either of them as hero or villian. Askeladd's charm & cleverness and thors self awareness & wisdom made them the most lovable characters to me in s1. You're way kinder to Thorfinn than me. I couldn't love him at all in season 1. But grew to love him in season 2

No, I think most people are rooting for Askeladd, seeing him as the protagonist, and are critical of the undeveloped Thorfinn. Most people don't care about morality at all.
