    I didn't think the ending was too preachy at all since its literally what the character in the beginning was going to the institute for. It perfectly fits with what the character was trying to fix in themselves, and that was the doctors method of treatment.

  • @Stranaton

    @Stranaton

    The ending breaks it for me from the perspective of the patient. "hahaha you thought you solved this and are worth something but no we doctors programmed it all in advance." As a patient I would come out of that thinking my actions mean nothing and all my life achievements can be torn away for no reason at any time.

  • @Mantis47

    @@Stranaton I think you misunderstood what the doctor meant. He wasn't invalidating the patient's merits or solutions, he just said that all the fuss with "Oh no, you're lost inside your mind, you're breaking all the protocols, everything is going wrong." was part of the scenario. And because the patient didn't give up and kept pressing forward no matter how much they were told that they were doing things wrong or lost forever, showed that they were able to overcome their insecurities even in the worst circumstances.

    As somebody who 100%ed this game, if you're interested to know just how much Vinny missed, out of about 40 collectibles (not counting Fire Alarms and Fire extinguishers because there's way too many of them), he found a grand total of 2. He found 1 out of 8 constellations, 1 blueprint out of... about 15? and 0 hidden chess pieces out of... also 15. I dont remember the exact numbers, sorry. Also he found 0 easter eggs (out of I think 8 that people including me have found so far) but those are ludicrously well hidden and don't get you anything. And of course, he didn't get anywhere near every Fire Alarm and Extinguisher (in fact he only actually "got" like one or two extinguishers because you have to completely empty them for them to count). Additionally, the game does give you rewards for finding all of those collectibles (except the eastereggs of course), so it's not just for fun. For instance you can unlock a special room with a few unique objects including a radio that plays many different variations of Dr Glenn Pierce's introduction, among a few other things. And yes when I said I 100%ed the game I did also get the speedrun achievement, it was very strict but also a lot of fun.

    For the record I played the Switch version and it seems a few things have changed with the game since then. I noticed some of the puzzles got patched to be less confusing (A specific puzzle in Chapter 5, you know the one, got many different changes over many different updates it seems. The actual intention of the puzzle is now much clearer, thank god). Also the version i played did not have those extra modes like Challenge or Developer Commentary. I wonder if they got patched in by now. I should check.

  • @EhrenCG

    @@GL_099 Uh, can I ask you to confirm if you meant to type *8* constellations? Because I can only find the one in this video, and I've been searching every other stage for a while now. I've found 4 easter eggs, and a bunch of blueprints and chess pieces, yet I can't even find a second constellation room anywhere! Are you sure there are 8 of them?

  • @GL_099

    @GL_099

    @@EhrenCG There is one in every chapter (except 9, of course). In the Chapter Select menu you can check if you have all of a collectible by the lit up symbols, Constellations are shown as an Exit Sign. Indeed, constellations are incredibly difficult to find, as they are basically black walls hidden in what is already a blind spot. You can't actually see the light on the other side unless you're already right in front of them and perfectly aligned. I can't really give you much advice except to simply check every possible place, but especially corners of rooms and backsides of things that you would usually just walk past. If all else fails there is no shame in looking it up. Some of them are rather devious.

It let you snap a picture of the room with a camera, then slice that perspective into somewhere else. There were videos of it on youtube and twitter but I can't find it anymore.
