Vine Scrapes 101, Starting Mock Scrapes In May | Kaleb’s Blog
Kaleb is back at the river bottom farm with an in-depth look at not only how to effectively set up a mock scrape but also the many advantages to starting them early. Kaleb covers the best locations for vine scrapes, how to set them up, and why it is important to get cameras over them this early.

100% agree that fresh vines are more attractive! I’ve noticed that it seems they lose attractiveness the older and more dried out they get.

I live in Eastern KY. I usually cut mine about 6' long. Had good luck with them over the years.

I typically use oak branches, but I have set up a scrape post this year that I added specifically to add a vine to. Curious enough to try it. We have a surplus of grape vine here, so why not?

Did I miss it or are you adding any scent to the vine?
