You can make a dauber using a wine cork

Can we paint this using acrylic paints instead? If so what are the necessary changes to be made in terms of colours, tools and techniques. Please suggest.

Absolutely! I've even used the same technique to paint on glass - just with different paint. If using acrylics - use a dioxazine purple, lavender and white and for the leaves a really dark green so maybe DecoArt Plantation Pine mixed with a touch of black and then highlighted with Foliage Green mixed with a touch of white. :) Hope that helps :)

+purpleshammrock - they used to carry them at Hobby Lobby but sadly they don't carry them any longer - you can order them through amazon or dickblick.com they also have them on onestroke.com :) Happy Painting :D

i love grapes in my kitchen. this looks so good and easy. You keep calling it a kit. Can the kit be purchases somewhere? i thought it be for ever before i tried oil paints but this makes me wont to do it tomorrow :)

It's called a paint dauber or sponge dauber - you can get them at most craft stores. Look in the paint, scrapbooking or stamp sections of the store to find them. :)

Use a wine cork - you can cut a sponge (Dollar Tree) and glue it on with a glue gun - :-)

A medium is a material, like acrylics, markers, charcoal, hence "mixed media" works which use multiple mediums.

wow never heard of them I just stocked up with acrylic pro paints but now will have to get these but the postage to Australia is a killer now it is over 40 dollars but I guess if I want results I will have to bite the bullet. I haven't painted in over 30 years and have a hankering to start again and can't wait to get the right blending thing going like I did with oils. Shanks so much for your replies so kind xxxx
