Vince Clarke and Upstairs at Eric's changed my life in such a way that it has never been the same since I was 11. Having a mild form of autism (and not knowing this til decades later) the burbling arpeggios and basslines in tracks like Too Pieces , Bad Connection and Midnight switch a light on in my brain and have featured in my mind almost ever single day since. I have been a synth and electronic music nut since "New Life" came out but this was in my mind a masterpiece of its time and remains in my top 3 albums ever (two of which feature Vince). Thank you so much Vince.

Just imagine in a perfect synthpop world, Eric and Vince produced the next Erasure album.

2.49: He confirms that they used the Juno60 for the first two albums! Very interesting.

Well he said he didn’t hear a good singer live before..... what about Martin?! And Dave... but mostly Martin!

Martin sounded better when younger. He now has a warble style vibrato that I find grating. Classic MG, for me, would be Somebody & The Things You Said. (I used to think he was dreamy.)

He's an artist. He would rather spend time making music than talking. It sounds harsh but that's how most geniuses operate.

Let's interview Vince Clarke and ask a lot of stale questions about Allison Moyet which he's answered a hundred times before. Just skip to 2:44 for any meaningful content, which still isn't meaningful at all since this guy doesn't seem to know any more about music production than my boss at work or my cat. You have 1:1 access to VINCE CLARKE man!! What a damned waste.

Poor interview questions asked whilst looking up his nose, strange.
