Vilnius: The New Foodie Paradise
Vilnius is my new favourite food city in the world. It's a bold statement, I know. But Vilnius food culture is good enough to get me to come back to a city we've already covered. There are a lot of misconceptions about food in Lithuania. And that's a shame because it means we've been missing out on this absolute gem of a city and the incredible food it has to offer. Vilnius is home to 4 Michelin Star restaurants but also to great street food, storied traditional food, and some of the best sweets and desserts I've ever had in my life. I'm such a huge fan of Vilnius and its food - and I know, after experiencing it yourself, you will be too.

This looks like some bought ad by the city.
English man who has lived in Vilnius for two years (my Mrs is from here) and wow, criminally underrated is the perfect description. Especially in England we are brainwashed to believe our country has it all, and especially Eastern Europe has nothing to offer. With this exact mindset when visiting Vilnius for the first time I couldn’t believe my eyes and felt like I’ve been lied to my whole life. One of the greatest things about the city is that it’s a hidden gem, never busy with tourists a real chill vibe. So selfishly I sometimes want to keep it hidden It’s always hilarious to see my friends / family’s reaction when they visit with my same old English mentality. Truly one of the nicest city’s anywhere it has everything, and yes, the food quality here is top! One theory I have for this is the small population and small amount of tourists, meaning if a restaurant is average, they simply wont survive due to the small customer base. So every restaurant goes above and beyond, not many tourist traps, and the food is cooked with passion at great prices Lastly it’s amazing to see how proud Lithuanians are, I’m excited to show my Fiancé this video as it will make her so proud to see little Vilnius on the map ! Hats off to the insanely high video production 🤝🏼
I've never heard of this city, and now it's on my list for travel. How beautiful and interesting. Thank you

My father a Persian married his wife who’s Lithuanian.. (Chicago). So our family meals incorporate both worlds plus American. Kugelis and summer soup (pink borscht) are our favorite. Ironically the foods being worlds apart we share a Russian dish called salad Olivier ……found all over Eastern Europe and Middle East.

Interesting video, you did a really good job of highlighting what Vilnius has to offer. One quick clarification - there was large scale Jewish emigration from the region to North America in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Bagels were already popular in NYC and Montreal for a while before WWII. And unfortunately most of the Jewish people in Vilnius during and after WWII were either killed or deported. Saying they fled seems like a gross misstatement of history.

Food is disgusting over there, they cant and dont know how to cook natural food and it always always poor quality crap and tastless or stink, so they have to "fix it" by usin tons of MSG on everything and pour even more of hot spices to insta kill your taste buds and cover that disgust of crap cooking and naturally bad tastes, basically anything tastes the same - MSG + Hot.
Well don’t call it ‘accessible to everyone’ please. If you are in a wheelchair, sadly you will be left out of visiting 80%+ of those places. None of the 3 new Vilnius Michellin star restaurants are accessible. It’s bizzare that we celebrate a city/national achievement on stars leaving a portion of our population out of it. To me - this example best illustrates the overall situation in the country
Bagels returned to LT.... Study how the Lithuanians treated the Jews and you'll understand why. Here the German's didn't have to do the dirty work, the locals were happy to get involved and take the lead.

Lithuanian Dutchy invited jews when they were prosecuted in Spain etc and many were welcomed and found their shelter here. You should study too,.How welcomed newcomers ended up owning most of city center properties in towns? Corruption of ruling class is not the least. Why Eastern European criminal language "Fenia", the slang language of all Criminals up to this day, is basically Yiddish, Ivrit vocabulary? So please don't provoke racial hatred here.
