Village Prayer Tree in Balochistan, Pakistan

READ BEFORE COMMENTING PLEASE: **I’m having to moderate this post A LOT. I experienced this cultural tradition by the invitation of these lovely women. It’s not religious it seems and some seem angry I am showing this and didn’t know that fact 🥲 I was just so happy to sit and relax amongst kindhearted lovely women. I was honoured they wished to show me their tradition. Please keep scrolling instead of writing a message of anger or hate.

This is Balochistan's Fatehpur Village in Jhal Magsi, which I first visited in 2021. On this trip, I didn't need to shoot video or fly my drone (because I'd done both on my last trip) ... so I simply down on a blanket and spent some time with some women of the village who were relaxing in front of the Shrine of Syed Rakhel Shah.
The most senior (or most outgoing) took me to what I believe is a type of CULTURAL (NOT RELIGIOUS) prayer or blessings tree. She had me shake it as hard as I could. Then, when a loose string fell to the ground, she had me say a prayer and then place the string for safekeeping inside my phone case, where it remains today. Still carrying the blessing or what I prayed for.
What a kind and generous experience they gifted me. I definitely recommend stopping here when you explore Jhal Magsi District in Balochistan.
MY ONE REGRET: not writing down that kind woman’s name. If you see this and live in Fatehpur / Gandawah and know her, please share this and, also, please send me her name. It’s just for me, I won’t post it publicly. Thank you

I wish I knew it's proper name ... I did ask a couple of friends but no one knew exactly.

@@AngelaCarson No worries. It's probably unique to the shrine. I've never seen anything like that before. 😀

Yes, I've learned that by angry people commenting on Instagram :-( I've just edited my text description to ask people to stop commenting in anger or with hate (NOT you ... just saying thank you for explaining it nicely unlike some others I've had to delete)

Unfortunately we have plenty of idiots around who think the world revolves around them and everyone should know everything about their culture and beliefs. Anyway, enjoy your trip/work. Ignore the haters & angry.
