WHO ARE WE?
Hello, Friend! We call you “our friend” because we likely share the same values - growing clean food and living in harmony with nature and its laws. So, we are probably walking on a common path together - returning to our most valuable gifts - the Earth and our traditions.
We are Lora and Halil from "The HaLo Homestead". We started building it more than 3 years ago when we returned to Bulgaria from living abroad, left the big city and decided to fulfill our dream of living in a village with our children. Raising our baby in a sustainable environment close to nature is a major reason that prompted us to return to village life.
Since then we have been working completely on our own to renovate the old rural house using natural and recycled materials. Step by step, the abandoned and unsightly house turned into a cozy home. Early on, one of our first tasks was to begin regenerating the garden in which WE grow our OWN food.
We have been preparing for this moment for a long time, but reality always teaches best. All this time, we have been guided by the idea of ​​creating a sustainable garden that, in addition to feeding us, is in complete harmony with nature. The main goal is to work in the direction of not depleting, but rather restoring our most valuable asset - the soil. Thus, in years to come, our children will inherit our land - richer and more fertile, and this will be the greatest reward!
We want to share this idea with you, so that together we can responsibly and lovingly build a new perception towards the village life and our land!
