In building such caves, the dry climate of Bamiyan was taken into consideration. One thousand five hundred years ago, the cave builders knew the characteristics of these caves in different seasons of the year. About twelve thousand caves, which are dug in several places in the heart of hard rocks, are generally cold in summer and warm in winter. Now this feature has drawn hundreds of Bamiani families into the caves.
