This movie is based on an Indian Fairy tale of King Vikram and a ghost named Vetaal. King was tasked to bring the dead body of Vetaal but every time he tried to do it Vetaal would tell him a story and ask a moral question by end. Vetaal also put a condition that if Vikram ever speaks, Vetaal will return to where he was at the beginning and he had to start again. Every time Vikram gave the answer being an intelligent man. So, it kept going for many stories. This is also similar to Arabian Nights and 1000 tales. This whole movie is based on grey side of life. Vikram doesn't believe in it and Vedha will try to make him see. Steph understood that so well. U will enjoy the ending twist so much. 👍🏻👍🏻

Bro Pls do Little edition... Vetal was putting 2 conditions... 1. If vikram doens't speak vetal would kill him and 2. if he speaks, vetal will escape ... (You didn't mention the 1st one) So at the end of each story Vikram used to tell the moral answer and vetal was escaping to go back to his original place...

FOR CULTURAL CONTEXT!!! A very basic intro to Vikram vedha. It’s actually inspired by the Indian folklore of Vikram betaal where the white knight king goes into the jungle to catch a betaal(ghost, spirit). Vikram catches the betaal and betaal tells him a story in which the king has to give judgement. Every time Vikram give the judgement betaal runs away and the cycle again restarts ie Vikram catches betaal, betaal narrates story, Vikram gives judgement betaal runs. And this cat and mouse continues. Of course there’s more to it but this is the gist and Vikram vedha builds on that folklore. So it has a cultural understanding among Indians.

The filim is in relation to Vikramaditya a king and vetal a vampire's story. The king go a journey to capture vetal. King Vikrama faces many difficulties in catching vetal. Each time Vikram tries to capture the vetala, it tells a story that ends with a riddle. If Vikrama cannot answer the question correctly, the vampire consents to remain in captivity. If the king knows the answer but still keeps quiet, then his head shall burst into thousand pieces. And if King Vikrama answers the question correctly, the vampire would escape and return to his tree. It's a folk tale and knowing this plot makes the film more enjoyable

The pattern of story telling in Vikarm Vedha is based on Vikarm and Bethal Stories...

I remember watching this movie in hindi on star gold2 it was nice movie. Looking forward to watch Vv hrithik version just for theater experience and BTW great choice as always waiting for part 3.
