There is definitely something reptilian or ratlike in the way he moves. Believe it or not, Alex Hogh Anderson is a trained dancer. He's beyond Travolta good, and into the Gene Kelly range of awesomeness!

This is an awesome scene. Alex Hogh Andersen is more menacing crawling about like a giant sewer rat than most people are running at full tilt boogie and screaming their heads off, and he's learned to speak Anglo Saxon English tolerably well. It's interesting to know that he actually started his career doing kinder musicals back in Denmark, and he's a kickass dancer!

lmao i wonder how the conversation went when he was chosen for the part "we love your dancing so much that why we're having you play one of Ragnars sons" him "oh thats great I was auditioning for Sigurd and was going to suggest having my character not only use music but dance as well to entertain his fellow Norsemen" them "actually you're gonna be the cripple"

@@jrw3349 well, just because he has Ragnar's kindess and gentleness doesn't mean that he is Ragnar. Those kids became prisoners and even Ragnar couldn't stop his men from hurting prisoners. Remember the scene where he hid the kid from being slaughtered by his men. Ubbe is the kindest the sons of Ragnar but he isnt the smartest.

While this series has a strong cast, Alex/Ivar is definitely amongst the top five. xD

Imagine seeing a man crawl up to you like that ask you those things then crawl off lol

In the version I saw, ivar says that there will be a sacrifice then cuts to them burning the children(doesn't actually show them burn, just shows the process of what king harald and his brother did before to those Paris soldiers in season 4). However Ubbe doesn't want to see it

Unfortunately, the kids had to be killed. You can't have an entire raid done in secret and expect the kids you just tied up to not tell anyone there are Vikings outside of the wall. Yeah, poor kids just wanted to have fun trying to fish. The casualties of war. 💀🙄

It's called Anglo-Saxon English, BTW, the ancestor of modern English. And yes, he speaks it fairly well as did Ragnar.

Da Lantis it’s just Saxon English very similiar to old german (saxons is a german tribe).

Tbh I thought they would kill the kids, only because they would have easily been able to warn the town about the attack.
